• Reviews around bass (3.73 of 5)

Sony WH1000XM3 Wireless Industry Leading Noise Canceling Over Ear Headphones, Black (WH-1000XM3/B)

    • I think they also sound better (clarity, dynamics, bass) than the XM2 and QC35.
    • The sound is rich, the bass is great and they are comfortable.
    • The bass bleeds too much into the mid-range IMHO and the stage is rather narrow - which is surprising because with all the DSP going inside one would think that it's trivial to EQ them to the user's preferences - and one would be wrong because there is no EQ function at all in the companion phone app
    • Some people says that the bass is not enough, for me its perfect
    • Bass is good and
    • If you like extreme bass while listening to music, then you might like these
    • Reviewers have mentioned how bad the on-headphone controls are, the typically terrible bass quality, and perhaps complained about the non-optional implementation of built-in "digital assistant" control, which, as a fan of music, not only doesn't interest me, but disturbs me that even my music-listening is getting integrated with the most invasive, privacy-destructing services available on the free market
    • Go into the equalizer in the app and turn down the "clear bass" by 2 to 5 units, depending on your taste and your normal listening level
    • (Default setting is too bassy, but if you decrease the "clear bass" on the equalizer screen in the app, it becomes better.)Bose, on the other hand, does not immerse you in the music
    • It's really bad now, songs with good bass is a pain to listen to
    • Great bass, crisp
    • Where these shine over Bose is the audio quality of the music--the bass is MUCH better
    • Good:-Excellent noise cancelling, same as 1000XM2's-Excellent sound signature (tighter and deeper bass than XM2's, the tiniest bit wider sound stage due to larger ear cups)-Massively improved comfort due to larger ear cups and improved headband
    • Worried about possible dominating bass, I was delighted to hear a beautiful blend, subtle or present as appropriate
    • Downside is that the bass is not great, and the app doesn’t do much to improve it
    • Bass is good (not emphasized), mid tones and highs are clear.
    • Agree with other reviews mentioning outstanding, adequate bass
    • Bass is quite frankly worse than I get from $59 headphones
    • The basses are great
    • Instead of playing accurate bass, these cans will occassionally just play maximum bass at high volume (beyond where the music is at).
    • The bass isn't overpowering the other sounds but does kick in when it needs too, awesome sound all around
    • Super bass and works flawlessly with Bluetooth.
    • Wide ranges, great bass, and the noise canceling is amazing
    • But over all, if you play the music loud enough with enough bass, works perfectly
    • looking for, the bass still sounds a tad muddied and the mids and highs always seem not upfront as i wish it to be... but what I get in the end is still very very good and impressive
    • These have good sound, bass, and surround sound
    • My wife's Bose QuietComfort 35 II doesn't quite have the bass that this Sony headset has, but it actually works, so I will probably go with one of those for myself as well.
    • Pros:+I really like the design, feels very understated and clean.+Sound quality is awesome, bass is clear, my ears are happy.+No power needed to listen to music when using cord (sounds dumb, but my old Cowins always needed power).+Cover ears nicely, reduce sound well without the ANC, which works pretty well itself
    • It is balanced sound, with rich but not boosted bass.
    • The bass isn't overzealous, that's true, more-
    • Bass is overwhelming and everything ends up being a mellow that lacks any sort of clarity.• Bluetooth is still not good enough
    • Excellent sound quality and bass and good notice cancellation!!
    • My preferred settings are to drop the 400Hz bar to -3, and put the Clear Bass setting at -1
    • No distortion, good bass, highs, and mids
    • I turn the bass up because I enjoy feeling the bass
    • The sound was amazing, the bass was great, and the noise-canceling phenomenal
    • No distortion, good bass, highs, and mids
    • The bass is perfect, but can also be adjusted for those looking for more or less.- Comfort: One of the most comfortable pair of headphones I’ve had
    • The sound is absolutely brilliant, and the bass is awesome
    • That said i like bass and man these things can put out in a clean way where the bass isnt distracting at all
    • The price is a bit steep and the bass could be better, but for bluetooth AND great noise cancellation, they are definitely worth the investment
    • The bass is too loud and gives me a headache
    • Love the bass
    • The bass is insane!
    • My Bose lack a little bass and I want more
    • The bass is awesome
    • The sound while playing music is just great, and I did tweak my preference through the app manually, adding some clear bass to it
    • Sound quality is very good with rich bass but no to much bass
    • Bought this pair of headphones six months ago, the sound quality (especially the bass) is amazing, but the product experience is terrible and because of this, I would really think about purchasing any other Sony product.- Pairing issues: you can only pair ONE device per time.- Bluetooth keeps disconnecting.- Already having issues with the battery of this device
    • They are 'muddy' and indistinct with tooooooo much bass emphasis and even that is not clean
    • Great bass that isn’t too heavy but well balanced with the overall sound experience
    • Good:-Excellent noise cancelling, same as 1000XM2's-Excellent sound signature (tighter and deeper bass than XM2's, the tiniest bit wider sound stage due to larger ear cups)-Massively improved comfort due to larger ear cups and improved headband
    • Good sound, long battery, excellent bass.
    • In terms of sound quality and sound effect, it is better, clear sound effect, strong bass, comfortable ear stick, wireless earphone is really much more convenient, there is no problem,
    • The headphones have good bass, though not the best sound quality, it does do well
    • Great bass!
    • Sony has a slight edge in digitally enhanced bass, albeit by the smallest of margins.
    • When I received them, they initially worked, with unbelievable noise cancelling, good enough sound quality (bass was slightly muddy and highs were not as crisp as my last headphones, which were the cheaper Sony h.ear on 2's which after several years are developing issues
    • Beautiful call & facetime quality, comfortable, great range, customizable EQ, extremely bass capable (depends on EQ settings), microphones cut out anything other than my voice
    • The bass isn't perfect out of the box, but if you find the time to fine tune everything on the app, hell it can be close to perfect
    • but I do like my music clean with good bass and these deliver
    • Bass is strong and trebles are
    • The bass is superb and the equalizer settings are very nice.
    • While the Sonys offer respectable bass performance (about as good as my Nuraphones), and while they're even a tad better in the mid-range of frequencies, the Nuraphones have far better high-frequency reproduction, and their maximum volume is considerably louder.
    • They have good bass and the noise cancelation is crazy good
    • very good product, great bass, great sound quality, looks like a lot of work went into creating this!
    • The bass on these headphones are great too (wish the bass could be higher). When making phone calls, I have been told that the other caller cannot hear me so well
    • +4 on 16K and “Clear Bass” remains at 0.
    • I thought the bass might've been too strong with the Sony headphones, and I was right
    • It is still a 5/5 product, with and practically perfect, but if you want bass, and the default controls just don't tickle it for you, then that's gonna be a problem
    • The sound quality is also excellent, very much carrying it's pricing weight without overzealous bass, or tingy highs
    • I love the bass and its much better than the beats, since I have the beats solo 3
    • The sound is also quite good, with the punchier bass a plus for me
    • The bass is very muddy
    • The bass is crisp and clear, but seemed to lack depth, which forced me to lower the Clear Bass significantly
    • The bass is so rich
    • compared with my other pair of Bose QC 35 II, this Sony headphone is lack on the NC (I give it 4 out of 5) but superior of sound quality, especially well balanced bass and tremble.
    • Nice, smooth, even, spectacular, and TOO MUCH bass
    • Bass is nice and deep, but the companion app has an equalizer so you can tinker with the sound to your liking
    • Pros- sounds like a Sony, can't complain, fairly clean sounding bass, not muddy or too over hyped w/o noise canceling, but still very clean when cancelling is on.
    • I like them and they work good with phone calls as well A+
    • I’m not going to say that these sound nearly as good as most of my wired headphones, but for everyday-on-the-go-beat-them-up-with-ANC these are exciting.
    • Still working as it was brand new
    • And the touch controls work as well as you can expect them to work
    • Although this technology has greatly improved, the resulting sound quality will never be as good as without ANC due to the difficulty in not cutting frequencies that were part of the music
    • One other great feature is being able to leave my phone to walk away and the sound is just as beautiful as if I were near it or it with me
    • and I found that the Sony wire was better quality and longer in length than the one that comes with the QC.- Easy to use straight out of the box - where as with the QC I had to fumble with it a bit before figuring out all the buttons
    • You will hear your steps as "thud"s, 3 times louder than Bose
