    • Doesn't work, I tested with 4 known good working laptop and 4 known good desktop hard drives
    • Does not work with normal desktop hard drives because they require more power.
    • Works great for laptop hard drives but not for desktop hard drives.
    • I haven't tried them on full sized desktop hard drives (because of their power requirements) but they work perfectly on laptop sized HDD and SSD drives
    • This adapter, being USB 3.1, is capable of working with a desktop mechanical hard drive
    • I ordered the Star Tech 2.5/3.5" SATA/IDE adapter to get data off a desktop 3.5" hard drive and it worked perfectly.
    • Unless you are imaging the larger desktop hard drives that need the extra power this cable works perfectly with laptop drives and SSD's which are all that I use these days
    • but my desktop did..maybe driver issues.
