The DS416s takes the 2.5" drives, very portable device if needed, holds up to 8TB of storage

Conclusion:I have had only a few problems using the device, but after lots of googling, as far as I can tell none of them are within Synology's control

I cannot recommend this device unless you are a very experienced IT person who wants to spend hours configuring the device.

This is a very powerful network storage device.

CPU sitting at 99% most of the time is likely an indication that it is an underpowered device for the software supplied.

If all you need is file share for your network for media and backups, manage a few cameras and a way to have your own cloud storage for portable devices this is perfect.
