Unit looks great and features are well priced.

I'll probably keep the DS216j for non-sensitive data - it's been running since February with zero issues after all, and it's a nice cheap unit.

This unit with two 3TB drives has essentially replaced my HTPC and works flawlessly via DLNA with my Roku 3 to watch our movie library on-demand using only the Roku remote.

I like that it’s a 4 bay device but dislike the fact that the unit is slow

The camera angle used for the pictures make it appear large and ugly but in reality its a really compact and nice looking unit

While I was experimenting with the ethernet link as a source of noise, I picked up and set down the unit a number of times.

Synology support sent a "refurb" unit which took longer than expected to get to me.

Overall these slim units are great for having something basic just always running in the background for backups or sharing or etc.
