Synology 4 Bay NAS DiskStation DS418 (Diskless)

    • One thing that is tough to beat, and a real treat, if you need to chat with a NAS expert, no problem, they are there
    • Great little nas , great gui , works a treat with sonarr
    • I find this NAS is really not very useful for the purpose I want it to achieve.
    • The Synology DS418 has the potential to be a good NAS but it is marred by the lack of support by Synology.
    • the only one had the problem with it, just google Synology NAS Hyper backup error, you will find a bunch
    • This is a great NAS that does alot more than just host files.
    • Regardless, the ease of use is a huge bonus, the fact that I could plug this in and do some minor setup to have myself a great NAS is great
    • Access my files from different devicesSynology's product development, in my opinion, seems to lose their direction in what is the primary purpose of their NAS applications, they seem to want their NAS to be many things to many people, it ends up making the primary objective for the user to buy a NAS hard to achieve and unnecessary complicated
    • This was not an easy NAS to set up it took hours
    • This NAS is NOT supported by PLEX which is the primary reason to get a NAS for me
    • Hoping this NAS solves my issues for file sharing with Win and Mac users
    • At this point, I'm stuck between standing up another server for these two applications (using the NAS as data storage only and hoping that transfer speeds from this app server and the NAS aren't too slow to devices), or trying to sell this product and purchase the DS218+ model
    • NAS just isn't worth the headache, trying to simulate what windows already does, for free
    • Far exceeds my expectations as a NAS.
    • Best NAS I've ever had.
    • This NAS was recommended by a friend who had an earlier model
    • Reliable NAS, fairly feature complete, straight forward installation.
    • If you don't need the transcoding or Docker support, I highly recommend this NAS.
