• Reviews around app (4.14 of 5)

    Synology MR2200ac Mesh Wi-Fi Router

    • The review also mentioned a number of bundled available security apps, some of which I have downloaded and used.
    • and it even has a great android app for managing some of the more common tasks and seeing network usage per device.
    • The main differentiation (for me) compared to the competition is that the Synology routers have good administration software, including well designed mobile apps
    • Intrusion prevention is a particularly great app, as well as local VPN service
    • After two weeks working with their tech support and engineers, I am told that the “VPN Plus Server will disable Cut Through Forwarding and reduce performance”, that’s how they develop software by cutting down performance in order to support their apps.
    • The UI for this router blows the Airport App away.
    • Fourth, I absolutely love the IOS app DS Router which you can use to manage this router either while connected to your local network or remotely while away from home
    • Interfacing into all its features is done from the SRM (web based application) but there is also the smart phone app that will allow limited access to control these features when one is away from the computer.
    • The app is very intuitive and gives you a good amount of features to manage settings and most importantly it just works
    • I think the router looks cool and the apps are awesome and work well
    • I think the router looks cool and the apps are awesome and work well
    • The Synology app store (just a few free apps and no paid apps so far) is great but the single downfall I've found is when you install and enable IPS (intrusion prevention system) and configure it to monitor, record, and manage traffic the CPU can become overwhelmed and reduce your throughput significanly.
    • forces you to download apps like a media server
    • After I tested the router few more times, I did confirmed Intrusion Prevention apps was the cause, once when I disable the app, everything runs fine.
    • Synology has a really useful app that lets you monitor & tweet the network performance and update the router using your phone or pad.
    • Did I mention they even have a 2 factor authentication option and a decent app for iOS.In
    • I am unsure why the app is restricted; I have used Netgear's ReadyCLOUD app and it was able to backup my photos from the DCIM folder found on my sd card
    • Overall, it's a well-made app
    • There's 3-4 applets to control things and 6 or so apps you can add to the router through the SRM just like you would add an app on your phone
    • for my mac network, suggested as a airport replacement very mac friendly by macobserver.comAMAZINGLY simple to set up great app
    • There are other great apps, like VPN Plus, which allows me to have a private connection back to my house from work
    • Love the app, kids aren't getting chores done, I choose device is permitted to be online.
    • I like the app that lets you see network traffic by device
    • I was sad to find out the app is unable to backup the photos taken on my phone in the DCIM folder found on the SD card to my external hdd.
    • Set up is pretty easy, and the UI is relatively comprehensive (although it won't show you every device connected on each band, which is a big miss).Coverage is good with better coverage in a 3500 sq ft house, and it works as you'd expect in Access Point mode.
    • Not every manufacturer cares enough to support their products after it is sold to you, Synology's software and apps are the best in the business and everything just works as it should just like their NAS units.
    • Upload speeds were equal and as good as or slightly better than other switches.- - - UPDATEFinally got around to testing additional 5 GHz channels and the ASUS
