Takeya Patented Deluxe Cold Brew Coffee Maker, Two Quart, Black

    • Now with the addition of the Takeya Beverage Maker, we purchase whole beans and grind them to make our own cold brew.
    • The only thing I didn’t really like (and this is being really critical) if you use regular finely ground coffee beans, you have to strain the coffee several times before pouring into your glass
    • Have fun making cold brew at home, find YOUR perfect beans to make a tasty cup of cold brew and save money
    • but I also own a grinder and grind my own beans to ensure a nice course ground
    • love this, just make sure to buy ground up coffee beans
    • It’s extremely easy to use just throw in your coarsely ground coffee beans, wait over night, and your cold brew is ready
    • I grind up some beans, place it into the filter with some water, give it a nice shake and leave it in the fridge over night
    • Do not fine grind / over grind your coffee beans
    • Definitely recommend grinding your own coffee beans for this as well as it gives it a much smoother taste.
    • It takes a little time and investment to find the right coffee beans to use to get
    • but when I received the coffee maker the instructions specifically say to use coarse ground beans and the mesh did not keep the grinds out, nor was it as strong as it should have been for a dark coffee with twice the caffeine of other brands.
    • No matter how many beans, how long you steep it, it will never be as good or bold as store bought cold brew
    • I follow the instructions but add more water to have about an inch of air from the top when fully assembled (w ground beans)
    • I followed the directions as closely as I could, including using the "coarse" setting when grinding my beans, and opening and agitating the lid a little a few times during brewing
    • I think using coarsely ground coffee beans would work best with this product, which the company does recommend in the instructions
    • If you do not have a coffee grinder and use regular finely ground coffee beans, I recommend straining the coffee a couple times before drinking
    • I get home from work, grind up some coffee beans, and it's ready for work the next day
    • If you grind your own beans a conical grinder is the way to
    • Definitely recommend grinding your own coffee beans for this as well as it gives it a much smoother taste.
    • This is a not expensive, easy to use, and easy to clean contraption
