To me, this is closer to the Tubescreamer family, as it does better as a clean boost or light overdrive.

But it comes to life a bit if you use it as more of a clean boost and turn up the Level - that really seemed increase the expressiveness of the upper mids a bit.

Might be the perfect boost for a Marshall style amp, but haven't had a chance to try that yet

It actually improves the quality of the sound as well as boost the signal ...not sure how much.

excellent bang for the buck!!!I'd buy a second one for my other pedalboard...and as backup should this one ever fail.has a really good sound to it...relatively decent eq, mid boost is nice
