Reviews around drive (5.00 of 5)

  • lots of drive pedals seem to kind of blanket the tone is a consistent drive
  • how I use it...seems like there could be MORE drive to it though
  • I own many different overdrives, including light overdrives in the "Tubescreamer", and some ones capable of getting a bit more raucous (Blues Driver, OCD, Joyo Ultimate Drive, etc.).
  • The MojoMojo is great driven straight into a clean amp, when stacked with other overdrives, or when sent into a dirty amp for a heavy tone
  • The drive goes from really clean and subtle, like a mild boost, up to super drive territory

Reviews around control (5.00 of 5)

  • Unit works as described, gives very good control over effect ranging from slight overdrive to vintage full on fuzz tones
  • Boost control gives good control over effect vs bypass and unit as a whole produces little noise even at high volume in small venues
  • Great sound, great controls and construction, easy to set

Reviews around rock (5.00 of 5)

  • It is great for Blues,Classic Rock, Country, and Jazz.
  • However, if your hope is simply to plug into the MojoMojo into a clean amp and expect classic rock tones, you may be a bit disappointed with it as a standalone overdrive pedal
  • With drive set to 3pm and level at 2pm this gives a solid classic rock drive with a les paul and a blues junior.. really nice, roll back the gtr volume and it cleans to a crunch, roll back the drive and control from clean to crunch with the gtr volume.highly recommended..

Reviews around use (5.00 of 5)

  • I have found my favorite use for this pedal is as a boost
  • Hands down the sweetest, warmest overdrive pedal I've ever used
  • I feel that the preferred use of this pedal is as a stacked overdrive pushing some other type of overdrive or distortion.
  • I have owned/used/loved many TC Electronic pedals over the last few years.

Reviews around job (5.00 of 5)

  • Ok, since I sold off my gigging amps and such, I have one amp for my home playing, a Roland Street EX, which for its size, price and weight does a fine job for what it is.
  • It also does a remarkable job of maintaining a good low end without getting muddy.
  • Does a good job to mimic classic overdriven tubes in a tube amp.
  • It does a nice job of adding a bit of gain and saturation to your tone without coloring it too much with different character.
  • It does a good job of giving a little bit of extra volume after another OD pedal before it hits the amp.

Reviews around price (4.66 of 5)

  • Great beginner pedal to start your board if you need a nice priced pedal
  • The price of the two pedals together was very reasonable and it was worth a shot, but I couldn't produce enough usable sounds between the two of them to justify keeping either one
  • It sounds really good, it's solid, and it's reasonably priced.
  • This is an awesome sounding overdrive pedal at an unbelievable price

Reviews around overdrive (4.61 of 5)

  • really you hate warm, sustaining, natural-tube overdrive; you won't like it at all
  • If you want warm overdrive then this is a good pedal to get.
  • If you want a harder overdrive you can give it some boost with another pedal
  • With the gain turned up to 10:00, it's a nice warm overdrive
  • It does mild, warm overdrive to a fairly heavy fuzz type drive while maintaining the low end.

Reviews around boost (4.59 of 5)

  • you have a nice, somewhat clean, fat boost
  • To me, this is closer to the Tubescreamer family, as it does better as a clean boost or light overdrive.
  • But it comes to life a bit if you use it as more of a clean boost and turn up the Level - that really seemed increase the expressiveness of the upper mids a bit.
  • Sounds great when you want overdrive, works as a boost with the drive at 0
  • I use this pedal as more of a clean boost with just the tinniest bit of crunch tacked on for a bit of extra character to whatever it is I'm doing

Reviews around tone (4.11 of 5)

  • Hit the notes lightly, and you get a clean, transparent tone.
  • At its lowest gain setting, it is basically a boost pedal; it gives if a more full rich tone.
  • This pedal offers a low-to-medium gain threshold overdrive tone that is very desirable.
  • I ended up returning it because the tone wasn't clear enough just sounded muddy then distorted
  • The tone is great and the pedal is well made and has a lot of adjustments to alter the sound

Reviews around od (3.98 of 5)

  • This has to be my favorite OD pedal, and the fact that I found it for such a low price is just icing on the cake.
  • This is destined to be the new Bad Monkey (a great, cheap OD pedal that's now not so cheap), but much better than the Bad Monkey - just better tone overall and more versatile, in my opinion.
  • Just a tame, almost timid, family friendly OD with nice tone
  • This is an incredibly useful, versatile OD pedal - I like it a

Reviews around sound (3.95 of 5)

  • More drive pedals need to have multi-band EQ - it makes such a huge difference in the versatility of the pedal, and I can't imagine this sounding bad through any amp.
  • I haven't found a bad sound on it yet and rarely leave it the same setting as it's so much fun to tweak and find new sonic territory.
  • Honestly, my bass already has a great sound and built-in 3-way EQ, so I tend to keep the Treble/Bass settings on the pedal center and modify that directly on the bass.
  • I can wrangle out more heavenly saturated sounds from my high-gain patches on my Blackstart ID15 amp with this pedal although turning the gain up on the pedal on a clean, low-gain patch sounds bad
  • Great sound, great controls and construction, easy to set

Reviews around amp (3.61 of 5)

  • I sometimes use it through a slightly dirty amp, sometimes a clean amp, and either
  • MojoMojo is the kind pedal that gives a mild overdrive you will not get with built-in OD of a solid state amp.
  • I think it would also be good as a blues pedal with the right amp.
  • The MojoMojo is great driven straight into a clean amp, when stacked with other overdrives, or when sent into a dirty amp for a heavy tone
  • If you are buying this pedal to run into a small solid state amp in your practice room, you will be disappointed

Reviews around matter (1.61 of 5)

  • I like this and the TC Dark Matter, together they produce a great sound through a small amp (Fender EC Vibro Champ)
  • I imagine this pedal would work really well with their Dark Matter distortion pedal
  • Not as hot as the Dark Matter, but pairs great with it
  • I like this and the TC Dark Matter, together they produce a great sound through a small amp (Fender EC Vibro Champ)
  • Both the MojoMojo and Dark Matter Distortion are routinely sold for $49.99 now, and I think they are great values at that price.

Reviews around monkey (1.00 of 5)

  • an sans amp blonde, a Bad Monkey, and an xotic RC booster, and its better than any of them for what I want
  • This is destined to be the new Bad Monkey (a great, cheap OD pedal that's now not so cheap), but much better than the Bad Monkey - just better tone overall and more versatile, in my opinion.
  • Actually, the separate knobs for Bass and Treble and its darker tone remind me a bit of the Digitech Bad Monkey
