It just leaks hot steam and water from the lid and very little or no whistle.

No issues at all with rusting or obnoxiously loud steam

I returned the first one because the cap that covers the pour spout did not seal so only spewed steam - received my replacement today and it seals but does not whistle - only hisses which can only be heard if you are near the pot
