Sure, that may be a bad thing if you are trying to clone some synth warrior you saw on youtube, but if you really want to create some kind of unique sound - and have the cojones to have confidence in that sound - you may actually create a sound that is new and not cookie cutter

There is a reason these things hold their value so well.

It's pricey, and doesn't do all that much that you can't get from less expensive equipment...but these things will be classics one day, no doubt.
