My brother's Meinl has that going for it: a really loose, raspy bass tone.

This is something to note though; if you like a super raspy bass tone, this one doesn't have that.

The Peruvian side, which has no strings/ no rapsiness, has a nice clean woody tone for that traditional Peruvian sound.
