If you talk a lot of use a ton of data, just get an unlimited plan with Boost, Metro PCS, Straight Talk
We're not careful about usage, but we do make sure we use WiFi to save data when possible, and our bill has always been below what we paid on AT&T, and is below T-Mobile's unlimited plan for folks 55 and over
I love my ting plan, you only pay what you use and you can set cutoffs so you don't go over your bugdet

my ONLY regret was not dumping the higher-priced customer-service-challenged big name carriers for this AMAZING customer service oriented price-is-right option.
Ting is the best - their customer service is fantastic and the cost of service for our usage is great.
The customer service is good but my first bill was $70 - which is just about what I would have been billed if I'd stayed with Verizon after paying off my phone
All in all, good service, good customer service and great rates for those who are fastidious with their data usage.

Ting is a great way to save money on your cellphone plan if you don't use it much and have a phone already that you want to use
OMG what a truly better way for an emergency phone for my "other:" mom.
The only way to beat out this service/price, is if you are on a souped up family plan, then sticking with one of the big companies may work out cheaper

But honestly, since most locations offer free wifi (hotspots, home, office, school, etc)...why would you need to burn that much data to begin with?
It may take some time after configuring wifi calling for it to actually work
I bought this thinking I'd save money using WiFi at home and work but even with rarely using mobile data, ended up paying more for way less service

I confirmed that this device is compatible with this card, but when I went to activate it, they charged me a $6 dollar activation fee just for them to tell me that this card will not work with my device because it doesn't have 2G data which is what my kid's watch needs.
If you intend to use no voice minutes for say a smart tablet device, then you don't pay for any voice minutes
