Wish I could give a better rating because the idea sounds good, but in practice it just did not work

A word about rates they appear to be a middle ground between using my Verizon phone overseas (very expensive) and getting a local sim card (much cheaper) but for ease and simplicity the rates I felt were very good.

All of the features for KnowRoaming sounded great (forward cell phone from back home, begin calling immediately when you arrive at foreign destination, a local phone number for a small monthly fee, etc.)Unfortunately, none of this worked when we arrived in Italy
Just to add insult to injury, my phone now only will work in emergency mode
But in practice it required too much tweaking and dealing with obscure phone settings each time I went from one country to the next, so there was no simply arriving somewhere and being able to make a local call or check email
My wife's phone was easier to configure than mine, maybe because I did it after
I didn't have to worry about a crazy phone bill when I got back home!

No more free WhatsApp, therefore this product becomes absolutely useless because their roaming rates are higher than what you can get on a local sim card with no contract in many countries

Didn't like this product at all, as it didn't work as advertised.
First it worked as advertised, second the rates were reasonable and the ability to simply turn on my phone and have it work as soon as I landed was just what I wanted.
Not only did KnowRoaming work as advertised, but it saved me a bundle over what my US carrier would have charged
