Bought one because I liked the metal case

Small, lightweight, and great casing.

I purchased a protective case as soon as purchased the hard drive: Case Logic

works great but case was damaged when it arrived.

The sturdy well built casing really gives it a touch of class and makes it feel high quality

When you open the packaging a slip of paper falls out and warns you to "wash your hands after immediately after handling the device because the case contains lead a known carcinogen

Which I believe is a big reason people buy these drives.....to save files in case your computer crashes.

It's quiet (as for HDD)

(300MB/s), is not limited to SATA2 speeds, but to the HD transfer speed off the disk.

As such, I only trust up to 150MB/s.

To give you an idea, it's just a little bigger than a playing card and about as thick as my phone (Nokia Lumia 920).Performance-wise, it's pretty speedy with USB 3.0 - I transferred 250 GB to it in about an hour, which is a consistent 70 MB/s.
