Appears hard drive failed since it just clicks with no access

9 months later when I took it from the cabinet where it had been for 9 months to archive more family pictures, the drive would not show on my computer and pictures were lost

I wasn't sure what to expect, but am very happy with this sleek and powerful hard drive.

In editing files directly on this drive, it seems to be a fraction slower than another external hard drive I have -- that other one is just 500 GB capacity FAT32 formatted with a tiny 3" USB 2 cord , while this one is 1TB NTFS formatted with a slightly longer USB cord, so perhaps those factors impact the speed.
