I've had mine for about 3 months and I constantly use it to store my iTunes Library to free up space on my MacBook Pro's HDD and store photo

so I can clear up space as needed.

I was looking for an easy and safe way to move pictures and videos off my Mac to improve free space.

any tech savvy person knows ALL tech products such as external hard drives phones computers game consoles etc will have less free space than advertised

There is also enough space on this 1TB drive to backup at least 5 computers, so you can use this as a "family" and smartphone back-up device as well; making it a great choice to protect yourself at a great, affordable price

only down side is the preinstalled software takes up 70GB of space so you only get 930 GB free space

It has more than enough disk space compacted into much more smaller casing than before.

(300MB/s), is not limited to SATA2 speeds, but to the HD transfer speed off the disk.

As such, I only trust up to 150MB/s.

To give you an idea, it's just a little bigger than a playing card and about as thick as my phone (Nokia Lumia 920).Performance-wise, it's pretty speedy with USB 3.0 - I transferred 250 GB to it in about an hour, which is a consistent 70 MB/s.
