That’s because the instructions are misleading and inaccurate.

Would have given 5 stars if the setup wasn't so difficult and/or the instructions were better.

The instructions are super vague and I don't really understand them.

Had I not had the patience to search for a while to find usable instructions to use this device, it would probably be in the mail on its way back to Amazon

As others have mentioned, instructions stink, and you have to ensure you're downloading the right Toshiba app to talk to it

Minus a star for the absolutely pathetic instructions that come with this thing

I've noticed other reviewers have already noted the fact that the instructions which accompanied the adapter are very difficult to follow

I'll have to do some searching to find better instructions to figure it out.

It's not my WiFi's fault because my WiFi adapter can do a consistent 12MB/s
