Downloading somthing fast causes all the other machines connected to this switch to experience extremely slow speeds both to other devices on the network as well as to the internet

I ended up buying an ASUS RT-ACRH13 for where I live and a 50' cat5e cable (temporarily ran it over the asphalt driveway and protected it by spiking two 2x4's with a space (think "speed bump") in between to protect the wire until we [sigh] cut the driveway and bury it) and hooked the other cable to a Linksys E2500 in the steel building workshop with a 125' overhead cat5e.
