If you don’t normally run fast internet, then this is a good device for the money, but if you prefer faster speeds then I would recommend something else

Kept turning "No Internet access" as soon as I skyped with my friends or launched Steam, not only the computer lost Internet access, but all the devices that connected to the extender will be unable to connect to the Internet, I don't know what the heck was wrong with this particular extender, but I will not buy this scrap again.

your case is close to #3 (connecting to main wireless router via 5G or 2.4G and then connecting a physical device), I wholeheartedly recommend this device.

It is great for static devices (e.g. desktops) because if you move around with your phone for example, your phone will try to connect to the extender even when you’re inches from the actual/main router

I read a review of these (not on Amazon) and the review said for the price these work as well or better than more expensive devices.

This device is not usable, while the signal is strong, when connected to the extender the internet is soo slow that I can barely pull up webpages, let alone watch any movies or do anything else.

I was tempted to just pull the trigger on a mesh or one of those that takes the wifi signal from the power outlet but this little 20 device did the trick!

Every corner of the house has wifi and this device is installed in the basement and it boosted wifi even on the second floor

Easy to work setup menus, once connected the device works fine with latency and speed test results comparable to my 5G wireless gaming laptop and 1,000 Kbps Ethernet hardwire

I tried using the same network name (SSID) but realized some devices don't automatically switch to higher signal network unless they lose signal on what they're already connected to or the signal gets really low so I would recommend using a different SSID for the extender
