TP-Link SafeStream TL-R470T+ Fast Ethernet Load Balance Broadband Router, supports up to 4 WAN ports /VPN pass-through/ IPv6 routing

    • But as I need both the Fail-Over and Port-rerouting capability, I took a chance and ordered another TL-R470T+ from Amazon last week, and I'm happy that the unit I received is hardware version 2.1About the only negative thing that I can say is, when you change the number of WAN/LAN ports, on at least the hardware version 1.x devices, you lose everything & need to set everything back up from scratch.
    • I have just configured things, so really have no issues to complain
    • On a hunch I changed the LAN DHCP range to start at 192.168.0.101 and then things were fine
    • My ending note; ivp4 only.(but that is not necessarily a bad thing).
    • This leads me to the other really neat thing about this router.... from the router's website you can watch it's CPU utilization and also see which IP addresses are using the bandwidth.
    • I have tried multiple configurations with my network with this router and have so far been unsuccessful in generating any positive result.1st thing right out of the box that I experienced was the awful lag in negotiating the inquiries.
    • I did not try their tech support line (which in my opinion is a good thing -- like most of the others I didn't need support plugging in this router which is a refreshing change from our Cisco equipment).
    • The best thing about this router is that it will let you jump networks.
    • And unlike Linksys, Netgear and D-Link products in general, this thing actually works and does what it says it will do
    • but this thing is junk ... just as a disclaimer, I don't dislike all TP-Link products, one of my DSL Modems is a TP-Link and it performs much better than the one provided by my carrier.
    • and WOW.. this is the coolest little thing I've bought in a while for the price
    • I'm kind of dumb when it comes to setting up things like
    • THIS THING ROCKSHow would recommend this product to anyone that needs to bond their Internet services together
    • WOW, did this thing deliver.
    • Funny thing is, after another 'reset' of the router, all of it worked with the factory defaults
    • That is a good thing an a bad thing
    • it's communication is not throttled, it is cut completely off not a good thing
    • That is a good thing an a bad thing
    • Yes, this thing is cheap for what it supposedly can do, but YOUR time is worth something and there is no excuse for such sloppy setup in the 21st Century.

    • , I pass on the following to anyone wishing to use their TL-R470T+ in its fail-over (Link Backup) mode (as opposed to Load Balancing mode).
    • All is working as I
