TP-Link WiFi 6 Router AX1800 Smart WiFi Router (Archer AX21) – 802.11ax Router, Gigabit Router, Dual Band, OFDMA, Parental Controls, Long Range Coverage, Works with Alexa

    • For a $325.49 out the door router, it shouldn't drop smart devices right out of the BOX
    • I was able to create static IPs for all the smart devices in my home (over 30 of them) and then limit the DHCP range above those IPs with no issues
    • I have about 50+ smart home devices and I still get no lag when I'm gaming
    • I have opened a warranty claim for this mediocre performing device
    • WiFi 6 is new and not many devices can take advantage of this tech but backwards compatibility should be on point at this time
    • Very important as some of the smart home devices only work on 2.4
    • , instead I believe it is the crappy device which is trying to connect.
    • I have five devices there that I plug in that required me to add an eight port gigabit switch to my old router, and the RAX45 as well
    • Worked out of the box for a couple of weeks and then devices would no longer connect.
    • Setup was next to impossible, signal constantly dropped, app didn't work, multiple devices couldn't connect
    • Every smart device is on 2.5ghz and only a small number less than 6 devices are allowed on the 5Ghz
    • Everything worked great for just under a month when the device just stopped working entirely
    • back up,(worked flawlessly) reconnected all the smart devices once again and told myself I should have gone with my first thought and bought the Netgear.
    • That has become an almost daily routine as well, as it commonly encounters odd issues which can only be resolved by fully rebooting the device, things like Google home speakers just suddenly becoming nonresponsive, saying "something went wrong" or "there was a glitch"; smart devices not working with routines all the time getting errors from my google home like "couldn't communicate with vesync"
    • Liked the coverage, even without any AX (Wifi 6) devices
    • We have 500 Mbs Spectrum Internet and it wasn't really apparent how poor this device was until I decided to get another router to see if it would make a difference on a connectivity perspective.
    • I was able to download to one laptop on Ethernet the full band with of our internet provided by Comcast, so all other devices became unusable until I set a band with limit on my downloads
    • Everything is super Snappy, setup was super easy, all devices so far working perfectly fine on it
    • I've had multiple devices on wifi for years, and all the other routers struggled when they were being used at the same time
    • I have a lot of smart connected devices in my house
    • I have more than 25 devices connected and no problems
    • I mean HOT!Some devices were slow to connect or dropped connectivity if inactive for short periods of time
    • Wtf!!!!The internet constantly drops, now all my smart home devices constantly get disconnected, the TV skips, and I’ve had to reset the thing like 10 times
    • but it was a real pain with some of my "smart" home devices that used the wifi
    • And even the Wi-Fi 6 is mostly useless, including OFDMA, unless ALL your devices support it, which is astoundingly unlikely for probably a decade (think of all the smart devices, cams, locks, switches) that are still on 2.4, which isn't likely to change anytime soon as 5 GHz is more expensive for them to implement).
    • Pros- Wifi speeds are excellent (supports gig speed internet like a charm)- Supports multiple devices (we have 4 people wfh in the house with simultaneous video-calls have 0 connectivity issues)- App is easy to use, easy to set
    • (using WiFi6 capable device) One of the Best things about this router is that a tech savvy user can use the web portal and have a pretty solid depth of control over the network settings.
    • The devices on the switch have not had any issues.
    • I have close to 80 up devices on my home network and they all work great with this one next Gen Router
    • I really was excited to get this and move into WiFi 6 as my house is filling up with smart devices
    • I bought this router hoping to take my smart home devices to the next level, but it was a waste of time
    • The first week everything seemed fine but afterwards, I started having all kind of issues, some devices will no connect, some buffering issues, even on the devices that were connected to the wired ports
    • When the device hangs, turn off the device and power on again the device.
    • It's perfect all portable devices, tablets, cellphones, computers, etc.
    • I could force it to switch by rebooting one or the other WAPs, but that then messed up every other wifi device in the house
    • Controls all my smart home devices quite well.
    • I think a lot of people who report that their smart devices are dropping may have a router issue
    • You might think this is arbitrary but when you have a bunch of smart devices on your network (think smart bulbs, phones, laptops, gaming consoles, doorbells, thermostats, amazon
    • if you'd like to future proof yourselves and not lose any signal this is the device
    • I had really good experience with Tp LinkEdit: tried to call tech support and was told the device is fine
    • enabled smart home devices
    • I do not have an ax device for it though
    • Has been a reliable and fast device
    • I have many wired devices and many smart home devices, 30+ in all with hue bulbs, nest, robot vacuums, google homes, etc
    • I went about reconnecting all my 30+ smart devices to the new router and it lost the internet connection and would not,no matter what reconnect
    • We often have 15 devices at a time and this thing has never missed a beat.
    • The only way to have a fresh display devices is to reboot router not very happy!
    • Even though I don't yet have any Wifi 6 (802.11ax) capable devices as most are 802.11ac
    • WiFi not only drops smart devices, but also my cell phone and computer
    • I returned the expensive device that "You can't do that" with and will find one that does everything I want it to
    • Dropped my smart devices multiple times a day (4 smart light bulbs, 1 ring door, 1 indoor ring camera
    • Great device, but was not compatible to my internet service
    • This may support more devices and the mobile app is good but the speeds are no better if not worse than my Netgear Nighthawk non Wi-Fi 6 router.
    • I had problems connecting some older devices even though router is supposed to be backwards compatible through the alphabet
    • Wifi has dumped all my devices and will not reconnect
    • But as I added more smart devices to my home I now have to reboot the router several times a week
    • It currently has 6 devices on 2.4 GHz, 5 devices on 5 GHz and 6 devices on LAN.I highly recommend this router if you want great performance.
    • However, my device had a habit of restarting itself every few hours and all devices would loose service during the restart (30 seconds)
    • that the mesh technology is still not completely matured: many reviews were complaining about dropping device connections and other issues.
    • It has been extremely stable and handles my 35 devices like a pro
    • I had a Dlink dir-890l that started disconnecting some of the smart devices therefore after much research, reading reviews I decided to get this one.
    • The interface was very user-friendly I like that tp-link offer cloud remote
    • I told him don’t bother I already packed it back up for return
