Cannot find the same performance router with that unbeatable price

This router has everything I wanted in a router at a reasonable price

woe be to you if your tv refuses to connect...there u r, paying for netfliks or watever...but password u enter, the router insists is wrong

So I was excited to see a WiFi 6 at an affordable price

I needed a new router and this one was a good price and hit the features I wanted; AX, >1G WAN, and LACP

Has great features and the mobile app is very easy to use

Great AX router that’s easy to use and setup with great features like Smart connect

The router has great security features but just wasn't up for the task of multiple devices being connected.

If a user is savy enough to be fiddling with QoS, they're going to be using a computer, and shouldn't be forced into an awful phone app interface to manage their home network.

the app is pointless i guess its good for for a user that knows nothing about routers is the only reason the app should be used just to set it up and running , , it was annoying to me and did nothing for me .

They did contact me and had to fight a dumb app so the could remotely control router

The wireless range is very good and works very nicely with Roku device and other wireless devices.

This router will soon be compatible with TP Links Mesh systems so the range will no longer be an issue when the new firmware updates.

When 5Ghz is disabled, 2.4Ghz signal is very weak even next to router

On my second unit now loses wifi signal and requires restart constantly

But as I added more smart devices to my home I now have to reboot the router several times a week

I have about 50+ smart home devices and I still get no lag when I'm gaming

I bought this router hoping to take my smart home devices to the next level, but it was a waste of time

Very important as some of the smart home devices only work on 2.4

I mean HOT!Some devices were slow to connect or dropped connectivity if inactive for short periods of time

This design flaw causes the router to overheat, which in turn causes it to thermal throttle, which makes it unusable

Also, because of the design flaw I will not be purchasing TP-Link products for the foreseeable future

5g is so strong that it reaches farther and faster than the 2.4g band on my old router

I like the product and would recommend as long as it is a new unit

A useful parental control option would be the ability to place time limits on certain applications, games, and websites.

One of the best perks is being able to store my kids devices and set time limits to their devices and limit their internet.

You can set up to label and have time limits by device or you can set up a bedtime in which internet access is shut off at a certain time by device, and you can restrict websites

After a few rounds going back and forth between my ISP support and TP Link someone on the TP Link side finally took the time to dig deeper, discovering there was a firmware issue disallowing PPPoe to work

Instead of two routers with two log ins and associated management headaches, I have one network of connected devices I can manage in my phone and every device has the same password

The 2.4G and 5G performance is very good and better than a comparably configured Netgear product, a bit cheaper than that and relatively easy to setup.

Had major issues setting it up even to a basic static IP setup

After two minutes of use it will just refuse to maintain a valid IP configuration, dhcp will de-assign the address even before the default reservation is up, and if you try a static IP to work around this, it'll claim the default gateway (which is supposed to be the router's LAN IP) is unavailable

Do not use the app with it, it won't let you use your internet's full speeds due to how broken the QoS seems to be

QoS. Even $25 routers have basic QoS features freely available for use

I asked the tech why in the world would this setting be set at a mid to lower value and why did the make this particular QOS setting invisible to the naked eye

When there is a USB 3 xternal hard drive, it can only have the speed of 300 to 400Mbps on file transfer.

The USB that suppose to provides storage through the network using a hard drive/flash drive increase the temperature of the port and block it

Second, for some reason this unit was really squirrelly when I tried to attach USB hard drives - they would show up in the router interface just fine, would mount on my MacBook Pro, but then would hang when I tried to actually read or write data

The resolution for this was to go into Router config and switch Mode to b/g/n mixed (no AX) and disabling Smart Connect.

2700 sq ft 2-story house and not a dead spot anywhere, even when using 5G. The best router I've ever owned

My place has some dead spots not quite sure what will be the best solution.

Finally covering all the dead spots in my house(1,200 sqrt/ft)

We've only had this a couple of days so far, but setup was a snap, and the range is amazing - there are no dead spots now in our 3600sf house, and I even get great signal out on the patio.

The AX3000 is priced in that sweet spot, approximately $150, before the crazy-expensive routers factor in
