You have to pay for tech support if you bought their junk more than 90 days ago

A call to Linksys tech support revealed the "router" was not really a router out of the box.

The tech support woman said she would call back and didn't.

This is where they tried to get me to pay to extend my tech support warranty

I then called Cisco's tech support and spent several hours going in circles

I started to have great concern for their customer support after this

cisco customer support was completely unhelpful and refused to honor the warranty.never buying anything made by cisco again!

Then she suggested I call customer support (over the phone) after only trying one thing with me

I'm giving this unit 3 stars, and being generous because it worked fine for a while, and customer support was good.

The router was easy to connect, provides different levels of security, guest access, and, surprisingly, has good customer support.

We lived in a 2,000 sq ft 2-story townhouse and never had a problem with a weak signal

I returned this and purchased a Buffalo N150 that works perfectly with excellent signal all over my house

I think most people see the E1000 at a lot cheaper price and don't really understand what they are getting

I just received it today and it looks like it is brand new and at a great price too

The E1000 is a decent price considering no more frustration with dropped connections

While the product itself looks nice, and is very fast WIRED, the wireless range is complete CRAP especially with VOICE IP

The range on E1000 is weaker then the 5 year old versalink

Anyways, this router, which I am currently using, has awesome range, and it never causes a problem

I think most of us would rather have a wireless router with some good range over a pretty one

The internet is much faster as I was using a slower router earlier.

I moved off campus, bought a fairly fast internet connection from a local company, and gave the router a try

I work from home and have number of redundant internet connections to ensure continued connectivity if one ISP goes down

Then setup fails and tells you to log into their website for help.

This wont be a long review, but a glowing one - I used to dread wireless network setups because of the chance you would have to go deep into the guts of your computer or router to truly configure everything to ensure functionality

For the price and easy setup I would recommend this router

The easy install is easy to accomplish as long as the directions are followed.

The install was relatively simple, and it generally worked well during its stint

Do either the easy install or go advanced by entering the ip NOT a combination of both.

Right out of the box, easy install and was up and running in 15 minutes.

I only have SP2, and I don't want to risk installing SP3 because it was widely reported that installing SP3 caused a lot of people serious trouble

You also won't need a 10/100/1000 E2000 model unless you are paying for some insane download speeds.

Bought this router to replace an older NETGEAR that doesn't support "n" speeds

After a quick insert of the CD, I was able to configure the router and all computers on my network within 5 minutes - no hassle, great speeds, and a truly easy interface to use.

I run two computers on the internet and it is just as fast as if i had a LAN plugged in

Thing didn't even work.

I chose the latter, a Netgear N300.It's too bad, the thing worked great before today.

I've had this thing for a month and it works on two of our four computers.

Funny thing is, the cd says to click on this link to get more trouble shooting info.

I bought my unit from a store some years ago and it's still chugging along, offering a good stable connection

Keep in mind, if you don't have the disruptive devices in your own home, someone within your range may have them; and that can upset the connection as well

but I do know that several times now it cut out and refused connection, and had to be power cycled

Up until today, my E1000 worked great - easy setup, good connection speeds, very reliable performance.

Simply instead of going into detail; I read the back of the box after spending a good few hours or so messing with settings, connections, ports, etc

If your DSL needs a static IP to set up then the Cisco connect software will not be able to connect to the internet automatically

I've experienced the drops from both laptops and the Xbox, and the *ONLY* thing that changed in the setup was the router and going from static IP addresses to DHCP.Issue 4: If you PC is set up to use static IP addresses, the installation of the Cisco Connections software will fail since it will be unable to connect to the router

However, I have to use the web interface to set up the static IP for my isp, because there's no way to do it in the Cisco Connect software
