However, at this price point, the speed this router provides is a good value
It was time to replace my vintage router, and this seemed to be a very good value
This Tenda WiFi router is an outstanding value and easily outperforms WiFi routers costing substantially more
But who cares because this just sits on the shelf.if you want a solid option with super easy set up and a great value in price, then this is a good option
As an AP you really notice it only has 3 Ethernet ports as you will lose one, but if you have a switch that is not a problem.
The router comes preconfigured from the factory for easy setup.
Setup was difficult possibly because the router, although labelled "new", was a refurbished unit
Setup was easy, however I am using the router in my home office and my messaging
Setup is a little confusing.. if u have a comcast service, connect to your modem via network cable, put the network cable in the wan slot of this router, on the online setup choose static ip and let it search.. good to go after that...
Setup is easy and the interface is very easy to understand.
Very happy with this purchase and for this price, I think it can be a very good device if you have few devices
several devices hooked to the wi-fi and so far no problems at all
Out of the box, it looked and felt like a nice quality device
Excellent signal and features, compare to much more pricey devices
I like how clean looking the device isI dont like how one of the antenna was so lose it would not stay in place, but I suspect that was a fluke - the other one is perfect!I like the user interface - very good.
The speed and range has been great, broadcasting both 2.4 and 5ghz
I also have a wired connection to my computer and get great speed and stability there
so far i had great speeds with my comcast and the range is great.
It lost speed on 'WIRED connections, then a few weeks later, WiFi speeds plummeted.
I highly recommend this router to anyone who is experiencing slow speeds, reduced WiFi signal and is looking for an updated experience in home networking
I use it at a student apartment complex that requires individual MAC registration for each device on their Wifi or Ethernet
As an AP you really notice it only has 3 Ethernet ports as you will lose one, but if you have a switch that is not a problem.
I had been worried that Apple's departure from wifi hub manufacturing would result in a decline in overall capabilities, but I'm very pleased with this offering from Tenda as well as with the remarkable user interface offered within the firmware, far more than I'm used to in the Airport system.
Using a Wifi analyzer app seems to confirm that the router did a good job of auto-picking uncrowded bands in our EM-Wave filled apartment complex
My friend recommended this router to me as he mentioned it is working very well for him, so I decided to give it a shot
Router is slow, streaming is horrible, videos keep stopping to buffer
(After this was finally connected, I watched a few YT videos where several guys had the same problem, so I didn't feel as bad).I stream shows via PlayOn, Netflix, and Amazon Prime videos to 3 Roku's, as well as using 2 computers, 2 tablets, a Denon HEOS system and a MagicJack Plus

A router that can make or break in reputation by means of weak streaming and uneven balance in bandwidth distribution
It is a very clean and well laid-out interface, and makes setting up and customizing the router very intuitive and easy
Set your PC to static IP address, for example 192.168.1.10.- Press and hold "reset" button.- Turn on

I use it for WI-FI only (as an AP, disabled DHCP and use a static LAN IP address )and it is fantastic.
Kind of like driving in the city versus on the highway

I thought the performance would have blasted past my previous router, but turned out to be glitchy, then it crashed my external hard drive to the point where I may not ever recover my information (photos, music).
I have tried using the USB port with an external hard drive for document sharing, and it simply does not work, neither does the DLNA feature to serve media
The USB 3 port is good for hard drives and printers

I know Tenda is monitoring the reviews, I hope you guys will update the firmware to support open vpn and also remove the meaningless restrictions on VPN account user name and password.

The "@" in the email violated the restriction that means I can't set up the VPN with the latest Tenda firmware
Then I found a very stupid restriction On the user name and password for the VPN account (which is none of Tenda's business), it is restricted to alphanumeric and underscore

On my computer, it kept saying tenda recommends a static ip or something.
From there I set up a static IP and tried to set it up as an AP
This one was pretty easy to install, though it took a long time to actually connect to my internet and tried to convince me that I use a static IP versus a dynamic IP
Another disappointment is that static IP addresses can only be set to addresses in the DHCP address range.
There are three modes for connection: pppoe, DHCP and static IP
If your network card can take it or you need a new one, this sucker will give you fast speeds or whatever you are paying for with your network provider, It's almost as fast as being wired, pretty much the same speed.
Keep in mind the router is operating wirelessly in bridge mode and not hard wired into the
I bought this because it has WiFi WDS bridge mode, so I could use it to extend a WiFi connection to two hard-wired ethernet devices.
Still working fine with at least 7 wireless devices daily connected to it and 1 wired.
