I have no doubt Netgear messed with my router to force me to pay for phone support
The first, very noticable difference between the two is the Netgear's lack of external antenna(s)
After being told that I've eclipsed the 2 or 3 month free phone support period (with my 8 month old router), I would have to subscribe for anything to be done.
The representative told me that he knew what the issue was, could have it fixed in 10 minutes, and could do it "for free" if I committed to purchasing phone support
And there's no phone support or chat support, only email support
Setup was a little tricky, they don't tell you to log into it with the wifi PW on the computer before you attempt to run the setup on the browser which is what I had to do before it successfully worked
Given that the reason I got this was for the key features of easy setup and faster speed I was heartily disappointed by the difficult setup that offered very little in return over my 4 year old linksys router
The setup is essentially impossible without dialing on-line or telephone support
The setup was easy and seamless, I even got the router on a different
I bought this router and was very pleased with the easy setup and slick appearance.
Thank you for a simple router at a VERY reasonable price!
The price is right with this router, but you get what you pay for.
This is a great router, and is capable of very fast speeds at a very cheap price
Very easy to install, good price and very reliable brand.
I've always been an avid D-Link user in the past, but opted out due to buggy firmware updates and the inability to assign MAC Addresses thru WPA/WPA2.I bought the Netgear WNR2000 because of it's cheap price and easy setup features, and I wasn't too concerned with the features of a dual-band router (WNDR3700) because 5 Ghz has a very short bandwidth (approximately 20 feet), and I reside in a two story house and thought that would be a complete waste of money
Both times I had to get on the phone with tech support.
: Tech support is SO bad, it should be a late night act.
The tech support was awful and it is slower than the router I was replacing
I called Tech Support and there was a terrible language barrier
Netgear tech support was worse than useless--at first they refused any assistance on the grounds that somebody else had registered the unit's serial number with them
Didn't really work as I had hoped, requires ethernet connection, will not work on USB drive.
Good deal for the money, but would not recommend for larger residences.
But, Cox talked me into a "better deal" with faster internet service.
I called because I need a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number as per the warranty info printed on the site
They told me they would love to help me for the low price of 69.99 for six months of technical support or an even better deal of 129.99 for a full year
600 Router (RT-N56U) promising to more than double speed at double my price.
When you think about Wireless-N Router you think about super speed
and I can get decent speed and range in most of the spots I have tried with this router
My Belkin had limited range, slow speed, and overloaded with heavy use, actually dropping other wireless connections
I thought it was too many people using the internet in my building, but my roommate (she has her own router which is not Netgear) did not get this slow speed
After doing that the wireless signal remains secure indefinitely unless the router is booted again
Even if you're sitting right next to it, you can lose signal and often times, the router will just reset or refresh itself kicking off any connected devices.
Stronger signal distance, but more interruptions in signal then my previous router.

Devices in the same room work great but devices down the hall in our house get a poor signal, and frequently experience connection drops

Hopefully it continues to work as it had previously for 16 months.

This is the third time at least that their hardware has disappointed.
" and I'm happy to say that my answer is "yes, definitely."The WNR2000 is easy to set up and use; it's every bit as fast as it should be in wired mode and its wireless range and power surpass my expectations
If you buy Netgear I promise you will regret the BIG MISTAKE!

NetGear technical forum helped to reset the channel to desired one (6 or 11) and now working fine as of today!. Hope so there wont be any other issues,
My first Netgear WNR-854T worked fine for a month and just quit.
I'm giving this router one start because I shouldn't have to employ work around's to get a product to work as it is intended to work.
Listing attached devices: I sometimes get incomplete information when I get the list of all connected devices
Unfortunately emails would usually stop and logged information was lost whenever the logs became full

One downside is that this model doesn't have a USB port at the back for me to attach my external hard drive to share across my network.
It's a pretty no-frills router, without a USB port for printer sharing or an external hard drive, but it works.
a hard wired connection was fine and worked as well as my D-
When I got the Netgear, I was hoping that installing it would be easier than the D-Link as I had problems that required some odd configuration settings that were proved to me from the D-Link support area
My first Netgear WNR-854T worked fine for a month and just quit.
I offered to mail in the router at my cost, and if it was a software problem, I would pay for it, if hardware problem, they would follow the warranty

They said my router developed a software problem which I have to fix myself or pay 80 dollars for tech support when a better router is available in the market for 50
But I made the mistake of buying a Belkin router last year, and had very unreliable connectivity as a result
My first Netgear WNR-854T worked fine for a month and just quit.

After spending 3 days trying to diagnose latency and connectivity issues, I unfortunately had to return this item
, too many products jam the connectivity (a collection of iPad, iPhone, laptops, desktops), and the connection varies with products: I have an older Lenovo laptop (loses wireless connection three times a week) and my wife has an Asus (loses connection once a month)
I am a medium to heavy network user with 5+ devices connected at a time but this thing started going out in a month and now becomes unresponsive every 3 hours
I tried to inform them of the issue, but after 3 hours of runaround and hang ups I gave up
Have to reboot the freaking thing, then it works, for like half an hour
After many many frustrating hours of trying to figure out what was wrong, and after 3 weeks of futility, the indicator on the home screen began showing that nothing was connected to the WAN port
The first time wasted 3 hours and the techie insisted I pay him $200 for a service plan.
