- I still have the photos on my iPhone and can back up again, this time to a USB hard drive
-
As a warning, if you've already filled up your hard drive with applications and are looking to install MORE applications on this jetdrive, just know that it may not work depending on the application
-
I keep all my itunes music and media files on the jetdrive to keep the hard drive free for the important email forwards my parents keep sending.
-
I quickly decided I could not trust this drive with my valuable photos
-
I had the 64Gb hard drive so this tripled my storage space
-
nah returned, I will just stick to my ultra quick portable solid state drive!
-
Its not an issue of the inconvenience - the real problem is ejecting a drive like this constantly is bad for the drive's integrity
-
Additional storage without replacing the hard drive
-
I would highly recommend this for MacBook Air users or anyone who's looking to add on storage without attaching an ugly external hard drive.
-
10GB ~5-10mins) however that is a small price to pay for doubling my hard drive space
-
Like having an added hard drive on your MacBook, and you hardly notice it’s stuck in the side of your machine.
-
awesome, awesome drive, very happy
-
You can also use the Mac operating system to encrypt the data on the JetDrive just like you would the internal drive
-
Not quite as fast as USB 3.0 drives but not nearly as slow as USB 2.0
-
This doubles my entire hard drive
-
However, the speed for file transferring is way to slow comparing to solid hard drive
-
Bought this for my wife as her mac book air was running out of hard-drive space
-
My roommate had rescued/removed the hard drive, when the iMac died a very painful death
-
I can switch to the latest programs anytime after a restart, which just takes a minute with these solid-state drives
-
(I had to use an external drive to get files from my MacBook Pro, because this SD card would not work in the Pro or any card reader I tried
-
I was always struggling with a full SSD, but with this SD Card drive I can move files over and free up space on the solid state drive
-
Doesn't work (wasn't able to use it as a drive, rejects anything dropped in it) with horrible customer service (only capable of slow, useless email correspondence).
-
I immediately started transferring files from my old iMac (it had been built at the end of the stone age) hard drive
-
Sits flush on a MacBook Air for a hard drive extension
-
From my experience, I never needed much storage space since I store most of the heavy files on my external (pictures, videos, etc).I was expecting to store ~40GB of music on the hard drive but the space quickly ran out since certain applications MUST be installed on the hard drive rather than an external
-
Good Macbook Air backup drive
-
Though slower than a vintage 1995 hard drive, the JetDrive for me is just a means to backup my system volume and data; it's better than nothing.
-
I used this with my Macbook Air 2015 to expand the storage since I did not want to up-front the money for a larger hard drive.
-
Drive didn't work
-
and I don't have to worry about taking it out/in all the time like an external hard drive.
-
Our MacBook Air was living on OS X Lion 10.7 for years and we did not upgrade due to limited hard drive space
-
Sure a hard drive might give you more storage and it might seem like a "better deal," but knowing that this is so compact and you won't even notice that it is even there is what lured me to buy it
-
I attempted (multiple times) to erase/reformat the drive, but it would not work at all
-
The old hard drive wouldn't stay connected long enough to transfer it all or in large chunks
-
and my hard drive has about 100GB empty.as far as design, it sits flush. barely noticeable
-
This is a great expansion for my 128GB Macbook Air hard drive
-
Clicking the icon on the screen for storing and accessing files is as easy as clicking the laptop's own hard drive
-
I transferred files from the flakey old hard drive in smallish chunks
-
Want to upgrade your MacBook Air hard drive space but don't want the fuss of opening up the unit
-
I keep my music and photos on my new "2nd" hard drive.
-
I previously used a nifty mini-drive, which I found to have poor quality control (mine stuck out of my air vs. the "flush" fit nifty advertises among other things
-
Within the first two months, the drive has failed and is corrupted beyond repair
-
Perfect for the job and a fraction of the price of a new hard drive
-
I have a larger external hard drive for backing up the entire laptop.
-
i got it just because i wanted something that i can put file on it and not fill up my hard drive
-
Not as fast as SSD drive but is a good place to store my movies and photos.
-
Too bad the apps are not suggested to be installed on another hard drive, but I am using the JetDrive to store all the downloads data, and the main drive to install stuff
-
Then I copied all my video and audio to the Transcend drive and deleted those files off my Mac hard drive
-
This drive is a life savior for anyone with a MacBook Air seeking a solution to the always-near-full solid state drive
-
Great way to extend the storage on your machine, especially if you got a Mac with a small hard drive!
-
Originally rated this 1 star as it drains your battery losing ~30% battery life but the drive is pretty fast when formatted
-
Non essential files are kept here, ensuring I have enough space on my hard drive to keep my MacBook running fast
-
For $30, I have plenty of room on my hard drive and plenty of space left for a few more OS on the JetDrive.
-
I use it to store my music and movies - it saved a bunch of space on my hard drive!
-
Extremely slow compared to other external hard drives
-
Like having an added hard drive on your MacBook, and you hardly notice it’s stuck in the side of your machine.
-
At first, it was strange because I assumed the Transcend drive would be seen like my normal hard drive, but if you are waking from sleep there is a slight delay before the drive appears on the desktop.
-
Great drive when you're running low on space
-
Don't forget it is still an external hard drive, so don't expect the same speed in write and read data on it as your inner memory
-
Its not an issue of the inconvenience - the real problem is ejecting a drive like this constantly is bad for the drive's integrity
-
It works quickly and acts and appears as an internal hard drive in virtually all respects.
-
Have not used it but about a week but from what I see it is the answer to my hard drive needs
-
from your hard drive onto the JetDrive and vice versa.
-
This little drive is perfect for my Macbook Air
-
I keep all my itunes music and media files on the jetdrive to keep the hard drive free for the important email forwards my parents keep sending.
-
Love the extra storage, I originally bought this drive when I only had a 128gb drive in my macbook air, but I then upgraded to a 512gb hdd and still use it
-
This drive makes it super easy to take a lot of storage on the go with you
-
The drive works great - I store my itunes library on it (which I've got backed up)
-
It really is just a secondary hard drive
-
That hard drive is very flakey and rarely maintains the connection for any length of time
-
Since I formatted the Transcend for Mac OS Extended, Time Machine automatically backed up my Transcend drive along with my Mac hard drive
-
Doesn't replace a hard drive, but compliments the internal drive nicely
-
Doesn't replace a hard drive, but compliments the internal drive nicely
-
It's a way better choice versus purchasing a new hard drive.
-
This gives problems, when I placed my dropbox folder on the Jetdrive - since it does not always show up when I start my MacBook, it creates a new dropbox folder on my hard drive
-
But that's not the end of the world either -- I'm using it mainly to store a number of large files that have been hogging up my main hard drive, and it's great for that.
-
The drive works great!
-
Great option for semipermanent storage if you don't want to carry around an external hard drive
-
This product is great for someone who does not want to carry a heavy external hard drive everywhere you go
-
why they make it sound like it's a solid state drive
-
Installed in seconds but have to manually move my files as they don't automatically flow over from the default hard drive.
-
I don't see anything wrong about the power consumption while it is plug-in and this drive seems to work perfectly whenever you turn off/on/sleep the laptop
-
It's a very practical memory for my MacBook air, it works as an external drive where I put my iTunes library and some videos
-
But the drive is fast enough.
-
It seems that the problem with loosing the jet drive when computer goes to sleep have been resolved
-
This little drive is awesome
-
However after uploading all of my digital photos to my new computer, I soon realized that I didn’t have much storage left on my hard drive
-
I just bought a new 2014 MacBook Air with a 120GB internal hard drive thinking that this would fulfill my laptop storage needs
-
Doesn't replace a hard drive, but compliments the internal drive nicely
-
So you still need an external hard drive for a secure backup.
-
I for one like to take my Macbook Air to the library, to school, and other random places, so it was not very convenient for me to bring a hard drive
-
If I were to store both of these virtual machines on the native internal hard drive it would need to take 40% of the 120GB internal hard drive which I would not be able to do without removing all of my digital photos
-
Adding the Transcend 128 GB JetDrive isn't as good as having a 256 GB internal solid state drive, but it is a good and relatively cheap way to keep your small internal solid state drive from hitting its storage limit.
-
I would highly recommend this drive for anyone that needs some space on their macbook
-
This is an answer if you want an external hard drive that is not an external hard drive
-
great product, at first i was hesitant to buy this product, i am thinking of buying another spare of seagate backup plus 1TB external hard drive but i am tired of carrying bulk external drive, upon seeing some users review i bought
-
Tried with Bootcamp and WMware Fusion 8.0I now use the Jetdrive as an extra hard drive, instead of what I had intended
-
My AIR has a pitifully small hard drive (or SSD, to be more accurate)
-
This product is advertised as doubling your hard drive space.
-
Excellent i liked it ...
-
amazing I like it
