It turns out that i just needed to un-encrypt my hard hard drive which was easy enough, but it was confusing until i went to the website.

The disk enclosure that comes with it makes cloning the original drive (or installing a new system) simple and you get a nice, compact fast SSD external drive when you are done.

If you are looking to increase the capacity of your Air's hard drive and you need a kit that is easy to use, I recommend this one.

I installed this myself and it worked but the instructions were hard to understand so I ended up accidentally erasing my whole hard drive!

but you need to be v precise in following the instructions when it comes to transferring data to the new HD.
