I did not buy this to replace a failed device but to have two, one will be kept at home and the other will be kept in my pack with my photography equipment.

I do not share their fears about breaking the device.

Exactly the card reader I needed for all my devices, for the cards that I have used it on, it works great and very the device is small/compact enough to carry around without it being cumbersome.

This device rips over a load of pics in a minute or two.

When I first plugged the card reader in using the supplied usb cable, Windows reported that the device was not usable.

The device seemed to work on my MacBook, but when I plugged it into a Win 7 laptop the computer immediately crashed and launched itself into a lengthy repair cycle.
