One note is that you have to use one of the 5 ports as an input for your internet connection, so it really only supports 4 devices; but for me, this was expected

For the price, a great device

all ports act as advertised and provide 1gigabit to all devices capable of 1 gigabit on all ports.

I'm tempted now to try one of TrendNet's new 802.11ac wifi routers, once more devices (smart phone, etc) support the "ac" standard.

so Mother Earth must love this device, right?

I have two devices - no noticeable slowdowns/latency even with heavy loads

2 months ago I paid approximatily a $110, and now as of this writing it just around $80.I would highly recommend this device not only for home and small office but for you medium to big businesses as well.

All devices are working fine.

Plugged into the chain, they will recognize new devices on one side, but not the line leading back to my primary 24-port switch

Unboxes, plugged it up, connected devices and now just ignore it because it works that well.

power still works and appears to work from lights but doesn't do any switching, no devices communicate on it.

TRENDnet has improved its devices during the last few years and results are comparable to other top devices.

Produces very little heat, which is great because I have it in a very confined location which would not be suitable for a hot device.

So, a near perfect device.

It's one of those those thankless devices that is working perfectly if you don't notice it.

It works perfectly fine and the metal casing keeps the device cool

as listed it has 8 gigabit ports and is a power sipping space conscious device perfect for home or small business use.

Hooked up 1 D link and all my hard line ethernet ports worked again
