Needed a small unit for our test bench to protect the PBX Servers we sell while they are being programmed in-house

Came home to find unit dead, no ac voltage out of battery back-up outlets

Called tripplite support, very helpful but unit still dead

I have had my unit almost a month and it still smells like burning elctronics

I really like this unit but feel that it should have lasted longer than 14 months.

Even when you turn it on and the unit is cold the fan screams away.

These units are somewhere between the cheapest off brand units and the real heavy hitting enterprise level equipment

The unit is completely unresponsive and has definitely had only light usage

connected (50w or less).Some units show 100V incoming voltage, while the good unit in the same outlet reads 117-124Buy something else.

Not a major issue as long as the unit works, but keeps me from considering the manufacturer as an option for any serious projects.

Great little UPS unit

I like the display and the ability to rotate it which I did so that I could lay the unit on its side

The unit failed immediately.

It is a nice reliable unit, and I am very happy with it.

They have a three-year warranty if you don't mind record keeping and shipping, but I'd prefer a better built unit.

These units were redesigned mid-production, and the newer ones simply don't work, and Tripp Lite is trying to cover this up by denying the problem

The clearly defective units are one thing, but the refusal to acknowledge the problem from Tripp Lite support is just unacceptable from a supposed industry leader

The unit worked great for 3.5 years

I had 2 units (one for my computer systema dn one for my HT because I like the digital and horizontal layout

The unit itself appears fine but the product box (inside the Amazon shipping box) was open on one side, and there was only one rackmount ear in the box

(this has nothing to do with Amazon, but the product itself).Fast forward three years and two weeks, and this unit is dead.

Without user replaceable cells, most people will either scrap the unit or send it in to TrippLite for what I would imagine to be an expensive battery replacement service.

If the UPS is smart enough to recognize that the battery needs replacing, the unit should beep and/or illuminate the battery icon to let you know!

Nice compact unit

It is an attractive unit, and unlike the APC, the unit can be placed horizontal as well as vertical, and the screen can be repositioned so it is logical for the positioning.

The unit is working properly.

Unit didnt work

Great unit takes a few minutes to mount in the rack, plug everything in and go! Using this in my home, so my router, PFsense box, AT & T router, switch, hue hub, Ooma phone and more are plug into it.

This Monday July 11 2011, the unit stopped working

But I have 6 units from Cyberpower in rackmount formfactor and this unit seems like a toy by comparison

I do recommend this unit, with the caveats above.

Like everyone else stated, this unit work and for the price i have to give it a 5 stars but reliability only time can tell

I don't know if this was a defective unit but some people have complained about the odor and irritated eyes.

This unit is worthless for that purpose since it has too long a latency period for the power to transfer to the computer with a brief outage, and the computer still crashes

This is a very solid unit, and I leave it standing vertically next to my desktop tower on the floor under the desk

The unit works fine, but the fan that comes with this thing is so ridiculously loud, it sounds like a tornado is a foot away

I have replaced the cells in my APC units since it is more environmentally friendly to replace just the battery rather than the whole unit (and often cheaper, too, for 500VA models or larger).

Great unit, good cost for a home computer backup

The unit was great for two weeks then the display became unreadable.

In all, this is a great unit and for 1000VA, it's a good deal.

There was a comment posted at one point saying it was loud, they must have had a defective unit or something because this thing is incredibly quiet

Functionality-wise, I like these units.

Also - be aware that this unit is force-cooled and can be a bit noisy, especially when charging or discharging.

Regrettably, I cannot recommend this unit or any other TrippLite with an LCD until there is reliable evidence that they have corrected the problems which resulted in this part failing somewhat consistently.

The unit, while working properly, did even out fairly frequent power fluctuations.

This time the unit worked as it should, display showed full charge, and with a two hour power failure earlier this week it ran gave me time to shut the system down

Both units failed within 3-4 months during moderate use in a home theater/ audio setup

Great little UPS unit for the money

No problems so far, using multiple units for 2 different system with qadditional units for the switches at multiple locations (I like to standardize wherever possible).

Anyway, the unit works great, but the LCD has been twitchy ever since I got it - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't .

The unit works fine, but the display is slightly tilted to the right.

Overall, I really like this unit and it appears to be doing the job well for now.

Not as good as the APC units I've purchased in the past

The unit is still providing power but I am extremely dissapointed at the quality and definitely don't trust this unit in the event of a power failure.

Unit worked great for 2 weeks

If you are buying for an already-noisy environment and don't care about an extra turbofan, they do make good rackmount units and are much less expensive than comparable APC items

So far this unit seem to be OK & working as it should, hooked 2 desk top top PC's ( Acer AG6-710 & Cybertron Predator i7 ) & a 40in., a 28in. & 2 15.6in, monitors, also using lan connections, case is slightly warm, no fan noise, unit is on all the time, unit is heavy- it was double boxed, well packed, no damage.

Our data: after the initial install of 125 units, 1 DOA unit.6 months later= 5 dead units (won't power PC for 30 seconds though meter shows 100%)12 months

Unit out of blue just failed...no power outage

I just purchased a replacement for the failed unit.

Once this unit was plugged in and warmed up, it emitted a strong plastic/electrical smell that filled the room

My particular unit you can hear something rattling inside it.

I have lost a tv to surges and this little unit has been working great for 3+ years.

It's a good unit, don't get me wrong... but whatever you need in Watts, DOUBLE it... and get the appropriate model for your needs (Double your needs) to have a modest 3 minutes at maximum load

UPDATE: my second unit has now failed, making for 100% failure rate within 2 years
