This unit works fine in this configuration, although we did have some problems with installation.

Of course both units (sender and receiver) aren't typically broken, but diagnosing which unit is broken is impossible, so ordering a new pair is the only way to ensure you're going to have everything you need to get your AV system (or whatever these are supporting) is back up and running

When it works, it works great - I just would expect the product to last at least 3-5 years at this price point.=======================================UPDATE2: Be careful with Tripp-Lite - I purchased this unit through the Amazon warehouse deals and Tripp-Lite refused to honor the warranty becasue the product was sold as 'used'.

The unit is working fine with up to 1920x1080p source material over my 35-40 foot cable run.

I was very pleased with the performance but was a little concerned from the initial install because both units ran quite warm.

These are good units, but use Cat6, not Cat5.
