Tripp Lite Keyspan High-Speed USB to Serial Adapter, PC & Mac (USA-19HS)

    • I also like the software that comes with it, which allows you to actually see the data that is being transferred through the serial port.
    • I have purchased several - at different times - for both business and home use and have always found them to be utterly reliable; very simple to use and with what seems to be rock-solid software behind them
    • The included software is useful.
    • Pros: software and drivers for the Mac
    • The software for the CarChip would sometimes freeze with my old computer with the serial interface
    • I plugged in the adapter, started the MX-800 software and configured it to match the serial port (in my case COM6) and it worked perfectly!
    • I develop software that connects Win 7 x 64 bit computers to older industrial machines through RS-232 connection .
    • Once the software and hardware was set up correctly (communication ports, etc) everything worked great
    • No other cable that I tried worked or included the correct software to do this.
    • The software loaded up fine and it worked the first time
    • A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source
    • The software that KeySpan makes available for configuring and monitoring traffic is also very handy for troubleshooting connections.
    • The software is very easy to manage and works easily.
    • The software is easy to load and use
    • Installed the software and it worked first time.
    • Not a technical review, but I installed the software and it worked as it was supposed to
    • Since the adapters still work fine except for the USB port, I simply desoldered the cheap-o port from each of the new adapters and replaced it with an FCI port (FCI PN 61729-1011BLF -- 54 cents each)
    • I know this cable is much more expensive that the cheap-o ones you find elsewhere, but if you're a Mac user, don't waste your time with any other USB-serial cable.
    • Works as it should once I
    • Works as it's supposed to.
    • As a matter-of-fact it is the only rs232-to-usb I would recommend as it is the only one I tried that actually worked!!
    • I plugged in my serial devices to the Keyspan and they worked just as they did when I plugged them in directly to a serial port
    • Unit worked exactly as it should, don't waste you money on cheaper ones, this is the one that works
    • Not a technical review, but I installed the software and it worked as it was supposed to
