I was killing the little pre amp before, now I only need to turn it to one fourth of the power and my solid state Fender Mustang sounds like an over driven Black Face .Fender amp of the past

Well, my amp needed to be re-tubed & I found out that Groove Tube is now using Russian made tubes & is charging for their name being put on them

I thought my amp sounded a little muddy before but this tube in the V2 position really helped

They give my amp great tone

After putting in the new Tung Sol in the preamp, its like the amp came back to life, sustain is richer and breakup is both "lively" and smoother

Sonically similar to the factory Mesa brand tubes without as much noise, not quite as creamy as the Groove Tubes R series, which can be a good thing if you need to clean up the amp, a bad thing if you want more mush

my cleans are brighter since the VK is a darker amp and running through a 5150 cab with Sheffield makes the amp even darker

The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
