Reviews around end (5.00 of 5)

  • It has a really clear low end even when the gain is turned way up.
  • this tubes has a nice and round sound,a lots of sparks in the top end with no microfonics
  • low-end is cleaner, tighter more accurate than any other Brand
  • Incredible bottom end, mids were gently pronounced and delicious and the treble was smooth, harshness was removed and there was no need to even come close to 10 on the three band
  • class A microphone preamp for recording studio warm silky sound very good low end as well lot of folks say that tubes can reduce bass not in this case.... the low-end is cleaner, tighter more accurate highly recommend.

Reviews around replacement (5.00 of 5)

  • The Tungsol tubes are good replacements for any 12AX7 tubes
  • Great tube for a good price, worked great as replacement in my hartke ha3500
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • used in an ART Tube MP Preamp, works and sounds really nice, as good as or better than the JJ it replaced

Reviews around good (5.00 of 5)

  • Clean tone is vastly improved as well
  • It does not steal from me, it does not lie to me, so its good.
  • Excellent with pedals as well

Reviews around fender (5.00 of 5)

  • and i can get more classic fender tones than I ever could with the stock tubes
  • Might sound good in an overly bright fender amp that you want to really tone down
  • I was killing the little pre amp before, now I only need to turn it to one fourth of the power and my solid state Fender Mustang sounds like an over driven Black Face .Fender amp of the past

Reviews around gain (5.00 of 5)

  • A great sounding tube very warm and nice gain with very low microphonics
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • It is a high gain preamp tube that works well in V1 posistion
  • used in an ART Tube MP Preamp, works and sounds really nice, as good as or better than the JJ it replaced

Reviews around headroom (5.00 of 5)

  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • Although I'm not on a quest for clean headroom, the Tungsol can deliver that in a master volume context.
  • Amazing difference in tone, clean headroom, and musicality--especially when driven
  • It has a much cleaner clean tone and has a bit more clean headroom
  • Jet Citys are not known for their clean headroom but these tubes definitely cleaned it up

Reviews around breakup (5.00 of 5)

  • After putting in the new Tung Sol in the preamp, its like the amp came back to life, sustain is richer and breakup is both "lively" and smoother
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • I was pleasantly suprised at the warm, soft breakup, inflection and response when backing off of the volume and tone on the guitar.
  • But at low gain, the breakup just doesn't sound nice to me
  • used in an ART Tube MP Preamp, works and sounds really nice, as good as or better than the JJ it replaced

Reviews around channel (4.42 of 5)

  • These Tung Sols are what every guitar amp needs for their clean or drive channels!
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • The V22 is a 2-channel amp and the lead/overdrive channel was a little thin and a bit shrill as well
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • I followed an online recipe for changing the tubes in my Peavey Classic 50 and this tube was recommended for the clean channel

Reviews around preamp (4.26 of 5)

  • I use this amp mainly in the Modern UK preamp setting for most of the music I play
  • A good preamp tube, a little bright for my taste and lacking in bottom end
  • I put this in a cheap Behringer mic preamp.
  • The clean channel doesn't break up as early as with the stock tubes (which is what the lead channel is for anyway)
  • used in an ART Tube MP Preamp, works and sounds really nice, as good as or better than the JJ it replaced

Reviews around amp (3.68 of 5)

  • I expected to hear a subtle difference and was quite pleased at how much better the amp sounds
  • I thought my amp sounded a little muddy before but this tube in the V2 position really helped
  • Might sound good in an overly bright fender amp that you want to really tone down
  • Sonically similar to the factory Mesa brand tubes without as much noise, not quite as creamy as the Groove Tubes R series, which can be a good thing if you need to clean up the amp, a bad thing if you want more mush
  • The Sovteks were all gain and great if you need to slam a signal into clean amp.
