Reviews around midrange (5.00 of 5)

  • This tube boosted the midrange and "warmed" up the tone a bit too much.
  • With these tubes, I have no doubt these amplifiers are acting as good as or better that their impressive specs

Reviews around channel (5.00 of 5)

  • The clean channel on my amp was very clean and chimey, sounded great.
  • The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is that the clean channel sounded rich and chimey, and so they might be suited for some applications, but definitely not a guitar amp where you want to overdrive it or have any distortion.
  • With these tubes, I have no doubt these amplifiers are acting as good as or better that their impressive specs

Reviews around gain (5.00 of 5)

  • As others have commented it provided excellent clarity, gain, and improved bass response.
  • But when I switched to the lead/gain channel it sounded like poo-poo.

Reviews around product (5.00 of 5)

  • While this product has a very good reputation, it did not compliment the sound of my Vox ac15c1.
  • Good product

Reviews around style (5.00 of 5)

  • The bass response is powerful and clear, detailing all of the aspects of the notes whether from Steely Dan's punchy clean style, Chicago's flowing melodic style, or Yes with that distinct Rickenbacher/rotosound combination
  • They make my beautiful vintage style tube amp less of a conversation piece

Reviews around mullards (5.00 of 5)

  • Given this excellent performance in my High Fidelity system, I would agree; these tubes contribute no discernable distortion which would make them undesirable in a most guitar amplifiers, but it makes them AWESOME in a home stereo! My choice of the Mullards for the 12AX7 and the 12AU7 tubes was based on similar research where the Mullards were being criticized as too clean for guitar amp service but praising the small Tung-Sol tubes for a sweet guitar amp tone

  • This tube boosted the midrange and "warmed" up the tone a bit too much.
  • and it was very easy to adjust the tone and gain to find a sweet spot at a lower volume than I was accustomed to.
  • It had bad trebly tone and not much power

Reviews around amp (3.99 of 5)

  • Again, I am sure that they would work well in other darker sounding amps or stereos--just didn't give me the 'wow,' that I wanted to hear.
  • Amp works good again but it sounds flat , no rich harmonics
  • My amp was not very humbucker-friendly with the stock tubes
  • I do alot of tube swapping and for my cheap little amp
  • Definitely sweetened up my Marshall hybrid practice amp.
