It's a great AP.

The app to install/manage the AP is pretty easy to use, though I've heard others complain.

It is a good AP point but you should not expect to get crazy speeds on this, I get around 280-300 down and 400 up on a galaxy s10 my ISP is google fiber (900+/900+ wired)

If you are looking for a great AP that will give all your users stable, reliable and consistent (slow) speeds, then look no further

I obviously haven't had it long enough to see whether it holds up, but right now I'd recommend this to anyone needing a good AP.

This AP has been rock solid for many months at my house.

Ubiquiti really created a great AP.- Quick to setup and adopt to my existing AP's- Band Steering works great- no more separate 2.4 and 5ghz

I'm running it without any network management, just as a dumb AP, so can't speak to all the fancy features, but it works great for what I need.

The AP-AC and Cloud Key also come with a separate power brick if you can’t, or choose not to, utilize the PoE capabilities of these devices

You don't need to get the cloud controller or the gateway suggested in the user manual, you just need a router (you probably have one) and you will need to hard wire (with ethernet cable, cat 5, 5e, or 6) from the router to where ever you mount this magical AP.

GREAT WiFi AP.

I added a second AP to guarantee blanket coverage and now I have 5/5 bars all over my house and 2-3 bars in those aforementioned troublespots

This is my new go to recommendation for friends who ask what AP I recommend for them (Maybe the UAP-AC-LITE model instead of the PRO)

So instead of dumping over $100 into a more costly combo router/AP on the off chance that it might be better than the others, I decided to finally do it right.

This Unifi AP would like to have a controller (Ubiquiti hardware) and a Ubiquiti security gateway.

I've since purchased an Archer C7 combo switch/router/AP, on which I disable the DHCP and routing (as I have a standalone router that is superior), and I do not have any of these association issues.

Our other AP's are Ciscos (AIR-SAP-1602E-A-K9) that were almost 3 times the price

Great AP made even better when paired with the free wireless controller -- use on a laptop or install on a Raspberry Pi for easy anytime access.

From an installation standpoint, for laying out multiple AP's and tweaking their positions for premium coverage, this Ubiquity controller provides a wonderful feature (This feature is my favorite): You can upload a scaled drawing or map of your desired coverage area or building and drag the AP onto the map to see where best to position the device

In conclusion: a really nice wireless AP for a tech-savvy person who wants a lot of control over a home network, or even an enterprise network.

Works great as an AP, great coverage and reliability/uptime is superb

Upgraded our wireless AP to this about six months ago.

This AP is worth the price and gives you a lot of flexibility than a standard wireless router or gateway.

Excellent AP and a great dual-radio upgrade from my existing 2.4-only version.

On other thing that sold me on Ubiquiti was their were just about to come out with the new model (the one this review is one) which was its most powerful AP and they dropped the price.

I HIGHLY recommend this AP as well as it is also an excellent device for home, SOHO, or SMB

The AP's themselves have security issues, such as SSH being always on and requiring CLI to turn off

Amazing WiFi AP

Impressive AP, i used to own a couple of Ubiquti AP LR, decided to upgrade to AC, but was a little cautious into their first release not having unify, but this gen is as good as the LR, and much better transfer rates.

This AP is the bomb, I get better upload and download speeds from 2 floors away from it than I got right next to my cable company supplied router/ap/modem combo.

I was worried something would not work as it was not as complicated as expected

So, 3 stars for that nightmare of a setup with Ubiquity's software, but kudos to the tech team (they always answer your chat message within 5 minutes, at least in my experience), as well as how good the price to performance is with their products.

Works exactly as I expected, love the fact that I don't need two separate SSIDs for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz like a typical SOHO solution

My signal at one end of the house is just as strong as at the other end.

(I don't have any in-house streaming like a Plex server.)I really appreciate the PoE support as it has made it very easy to run a long Cat5e cable to wherever I want in to place the AP in my attic with no need to run another cable for power
