If I would have known "Missing bonus material" meant missing SD card, belt clip, software, documentation as well as being scuffed I wouldn't have bought the repackaged one.

Mine came with dead batteries and a corrupted SD card

The major problem with this is that it will COMPLETELY corrupt the SD card and EVERY TIME, making the device UNUSABLE.Buyer beware on this one!

But don't ever pull the USB cable out before you tell windows to eject this device or you'll corrupt the SD micro card inside the scanner.

I never even got to the first stage of entering the date- Seems like the flimsy Micro-CD card insert device would not read the card, possibly a bad connection

Many of the folks that helped me get mine working again mentioned investing additional money beyond the $500 price tag of the scanner to purchase memory cards and dedicated readers to get around the issue of corrupting cards when connecting the scanner to a computer

I just got done modifying my fav's list via Sentinel, I saved it, as best as I can tell, I eject the scanner from the drive, then the scanner tells me I have to format the SD card and lose all my work

This is because Windows is so stupid, it will corrupt the SD card if you format it with anything other than SDFormatter.

This should allow the user to simply replace a corrupt or non-functioning card with a copy and get you back into operation with minimal frustration.

Second negative is the "Analyze" function does not work as it is described in the manual.

The VHF/UHF reception is about the same as my other units, as good as you'll probably ever need.
