Uniden BCD436HP HomePatrol Series Digital Handheld Scanner. TrunkTracker V, Simple Programming, S.A.M.E. Emergency/Weather Alert, Covers USA and Canada

    • Good reception as received but 800 mhz range works much better after putting a Radio Shack #2000283 800 mhx rubber duck antenna on it.
    • The reception with the stock SMS rubber antenna is better than good and picks up very little interference !
    • It has great reception
    • This scanner is of a comfortable weight, fits perfectly in hand, can be belt attached and has great reception
    • I guess the only other thing I don't like is the reception is somewhat tricky if your settings are off or you just aren't in a good place where signals can easily be
    • This scanner can be a bit complicated however it has great reception and can be customized in many different ways
    • Reception has been excellent and sensitivity I've found has been on-par with other scanners I own (396XT and HP-1)
    • But it does have incredible reception on P-25 systems and if you want extra bells/whistles to play with, this is for you.
    • P-25 (Phase 1 & 2) but I get fantastic reception with Phase 1 (so far) in my area.
    • This is probably an excellent product if you live in an area that receives clear reception.
    • Good reception.
    • Reception is poor for rural areas but I believe the antenna is poor quality
    • I found the Uniden BCD436HP digital Scanner to have excellent signal reception and scanning ability

    • Great reception
    • Surprisingly though, my BC125AT gets better reception on the aircraft frequencies
    • The reception of the BCD436HP is great out of the box
    • I upgraded the antenna to a Watson 801 for even better reception
    • as advertised, I was up and listening in 3 minutes.. literally... reception was great with stock antenna, and listening to illinois SC21 system is delightful
    • Poor reception with every antenna i own
    • Reception here in West Texas is great, very easy to use.
    • It's a delight to use, sort of like plug and play as there's very little manipulating to be done and reception is really good
    • Poor reception on UHF and vhf when used as portable
    • Did purchase a fender mount with a larsen 150/450/800 nmo type antenna for MUCH greater reception while on the move..
    • Excellent reception, HUGE database, seemingly unlimited options
    • The reception is great and the 436 seems capable of pulling in transmissions from 15-20 miles away with no problem.
    • The Aweek AL-800 antenna gets much better reception than the Diamond RH77CA on this scanner but the Diamond is better on the 125
    • Easy to program and great reception.
    • Digital reception is good, traditional FM is lacking as others have stated.
    • Has worked for me mostly trouble free except for SD card, has good reception.
    • If uniden can bring out this same model with a UHF fix I would buy in a heart beat doesn't make sence $450 for no proper UHF reception
    • Excellent reception in central New Hampshire.
    • Poor reception on UHF and vhf when used as portable
    • Has great reception with a decent antenna.
    • Excellent upgrade from my BC396T.
