This is a scanner that you need if you can get the funds to purchaseWorks well in low freq areas and poor signalsSuggest a portal antenna to enjoy all it qualitiesVery clear and easy to setup and scan even if you have never used one before
-
Upgraded the rating to four stars after investing in a super antenna and learning how to use this scanner
-
Universal has a fine antenna with the correct sma connector and swivel
-
I read many reviews ( sadly after I bought it) and ALOT of people have the same problem, and/or have to buy a better antenna
-
This antenna is a little expensive, but worth it.
-
The addition of a good antenna will made a world of difference in the quality sound, went from garbled sound to reviving crystal clear sound
-
I even sent away for a "Better" antenna which was like throwing $30 down the drain
-
I would probably have to add a roof top antenna to get it to work which would take away the portability which i wanted.
-
They should include a good antenna for the $400+ dollars this unit costs
-
This antenna is a little expensive, but worth it.
-
and I'd have to hook it up to a discone or other broadband reasonably efficient antenna to hear very much, but the stock antenna actually
-
An outside antenna would probably improve range and reception, but the stock antenna picks up all the local channels that I want to hear.
-
But I recommend a better antenna if you want to use it at home on a desk.

I've owned several Uniden scanners over the years and currently own the Uniden 436HP and the classic BR330T.
