In terms of overall weight, with just the black handgrip (no clear shell top case) it weighs closer to the older 3DS model (not the new 3DS).I've used rubber/silicone grips before on my 3DS, but the hard, smooth plastic of this grip just feels so much better (like a real console controller)

It does add a somewhat significant amount of weight to the unit, so I've opted of using the clear shell for the top to reduce the weight

The additional stylus, clear top shell, and folding stand in the back are all great quality-of-life additions that didn't need to be added to support the actual function of the hand grip, so this item definitely gets five stars from me.
