I replaced this unit with an Insignia USB 3.0 Laptop Hard Disk Drive Enclosure that I purchased at Best Buy which provides a solid cable connection at the hard drive and provides a single USB connection for the other

I un-boxed, assembled and connected my 500GB SATA hard-disk using this enclosure to my laptop but only got detected after 2 mins

While construction is optimal, it doesn't appear that the ends of the enclosure would survive a drop.- Hard disk seems to just "hang" in place on the board/ports inside the enclosure, making traveling with a hard disk enclosed inside it a scary task

The casing is durable, assembling the hard disk inside is easy, and it comes with free soft case and screw driver

One issue with these cases however is that when disconnecting from some Linux distros, they give a really nasty disk error that corrupts the drive in its entirety

That's to be said with most portable external hard disks, though, because they don't take abuse very well

It worked perfectly, now I use the enclosure as a external disk for my Wii console, where I can store all my purchased games

I had to buy this in order to copy all contents form my laptop's hard disk over to a new hard drive.

I am slightly worried about how the case holds the hard-disk in place since there are only two screws, one on each side, but it seems to be quite secure if you are gentle with it (which you should in any case)

I've bought this product just to clone a hard disk, so I won't be able to say how durable the product is, since it was a one-time use

I got this enclosure to repair a corrupted hard disk

The real thing that I wanted out of this was to recover all the data from my old hard disk

I wasn't able to retrieve my data--but it might be because my disk is corrupted.

I made a mistake with this product because dont pay to much atention to the description of the product, but is very handy to have this type of enclousure for the 2.0 hard disk

It worked perfectly as I first put the new drive in this enclosure in order to clone the old drive prior to removing it
