I used this enclosure for my original Macbook Pro internal hard drive after upgrading my Mac with a new drive and bigger drive

My MacBook Pro died and I didn't want to waste the HD, so I got

My 2010 Macbook Pro had been running a bit slow, and so I decided to upgrade the hard drive to a faster one with greater capacity

I have had no problems using a single USB to microUSB cable (2M, good quality) with the unit rather than the dual USB to microUSB cable supplied with it

The case comes with its own Philips screwdriver for securing the drive inside the case as well as for the screws that hold the case itself together

USB 3.0 speeds appeared to work as she copied about 40 gigabytes of photos and music to her new laptop.

Not even going to return it, as it's not worth my time

It worked exactly as I wanted it to

While it's anyone's guess how long the SATA to USB controller will work on these, I would much rather have it to deal with than an integrated one on a very difficult-to-open WD Passport or similar

It fits great and works as it should.

Works exactly as I need it to, simple to put together and no instructions needed

I recommend connecting both as it gives enough current to power the hard drive properly

I totally recommend it as in market its twice the price what you get here on amazon.
