I got this after my external hard drive failed, when it turns out it was just the usb/sata connection that failed
-
I will definitely recommend Vantec drive enclosures to anyone looking for hard drive enclosures for their SATA hard or solid state drives.
-
i was given an old SATA hard drive and wanted an external drive to back up my computer.
-
Easy to install a bare 2.5-inch SATA hard drive into.
-
Totally inexpensive and really nicely designed for a laptop sized 2.5in SATA hard drive.
-
Great fit for my 2.5 SATA hard drive.
-
Wanted a replacement enclosure for a 320Gb Western Digital 2.5" SATA hard drive that was originally a WD Passport portable drive (not sure how old the HD is, picked up at Circuit City about the last month it was in business) that I use as the Time Machine backup disk for my macbook (running Mac OSX v10.7.5)
-
I bought the case for a Seagate 250G SATA hard drive which is more than 2 yrs old
-
[Optimized For SSD, Support UASP SATA III
-
The cable connection to the hard drive (SATA), seems to be made with a cheap chip, but it gets the job done
-
The case comes with its own Philips screwdriver for securing the drive inside the case as well as for the screws that hold the case itself together
-
USB 3.0 speeds appeared to work as she copied about 40 gigabytes of photos and music to her new laptop.
-
Not even going to return it, as it's not worth my time
-
It worked exactly as I wanted it to
-
While it's anyone's guess how long the SATA to USB controller will work on these, I would much rather have it to deal with than an integrated one on a very difficult-to-open WD Passport or similar
-
It fits great and works as it should.
-
Works exactly as I need it to, simple to put together and no instructions needed
-
I recommend connecting both as it gives enough current to power the hard drive properly
-
I totally recommend it as in market its twice the price what you get here on amazon.
