Seems to work perfectly, the one thing that I dont like is that the USB cable is split between to outlets, I have no idea why

I would guess the same thing could be accomplished over a longer period of time by just moving it around

The only thing I would say is that the casing is made of (I think) aluminum, so it is quite light (a good thing in my book) and quite hollow.

The real thing that I wanted out of this was to recover all the data from my old hard disk

Only good things about this are the little faux leather case and the tiny magnetic screwdriver

Pros:-Traveling pouch so it the aluminum doesn't get scratched during travel-Consistent transfer speeds (no benchmarks done, but for backing up documents, I don't see why a benchmark is really needed)-A thick USB cable (a plus for me since I have a cat that likes to chew on cables)-Enclosure is closed using screws (I prefer this than the tool-less)-Activity LEDCons:-The included screwdriver is really tiny-Why isn't this device on the first page when you search 2.5 enclosure, I had to actually google makers of 2.5 enclosures and browse the whole catalog of Vantec devices from their siteMy final words are that this is my 3rd Vantec device and they undoubted have earned my trust when it comes to peripheral and computer accessories, their solutions have been hassle free every time and its the most basic thing that I can expect from these types of manufacturers because waiting for things to arrive to only find out that they don't work is a pain and absolute waste of time.

The metal casing is sturdy, which was the only good thing about it.

I plugged the thing in and put the little screws in and it worked, there isn't much else to say.

It was a good thing that my computer or drive weren't damaged

One last thing - the enclosure looks really nice

Its an outstanding service that it was provided, it was delivered on time, the product its awesome since I expected that for the price it should be less elegant but I was wrong, that’s the thing that I liked the most , and if anyone need this product I recommend to go and purchase it.

To be sure, a defective product is not a good thing, but it can be remedied by making a warranty claim.

The screwdriver has a magnetized tip, which is a nice thing to have when dealing with such small screws

This little thing worked flawlessly.

The only thing I don't care for is the strong rubber smell the cable gives off

I removed the drive (I knew better than to use a drive with info, I always test these things with an old 60GB blank drive just in case) and installed it into a known good enclosure and it worked without issue.

like I did I suggest u make a folder on ur desktop and whatever important things u need from the HD u put into the folder and then safely unplug ur HD and THEN plug ur flash drive in and have fun

This enclosure is as advertised but that is about the only positive thing that I can say about it.

No disk I had would revive the thing and I still don't know what happened - think it was a windows update.

These things are the absolute best.

It worked perfectly as I first put the new drive in this enclosure in order to clone the old drive prior to removing it

The drive went in and needed an extra "hold" against the foam while putting in the tiny enclosure screws, so it's in there good n' tight
