What, did the company saved maybe a cent on the cheap/bad USB ports they use in the Vantrue X3.

For $159, Vantrue should have used a little better quality USB ports

The biggest issue is with the cheap/bad USB ports (both, the one in the windshield mount and the one in the csmera)

The port still works and the camera works very well, but I'm sure I'll have to replace the mount before long, as there are exposed wires, and the port comes loose from the mount every time I plug or unplug the power cable

Mini USB port sloppy and unusable when delivered, contacted tech support and got the usual "is it connected correctly" troubleshooting (Installed auto electronics professionally for decades

Just DO NOT plug in the power until AFTER you have put it on the windshield or you could break the power port on the windshield mount like I did( that was MY fault not the product)

The smell was coming from inside the ca,r from my charging phone (nexus),
