While this laptop stand will not fit in my laptop bag, and is a heavier than my last portable laptop stand, it's worth the weight

The stand bears the full weight of my 2009 macbook pro and seems to help with the unbearable heat conditions that plagued my old laptop when I have it on my bed.

It requires a few precautions though; you must remove the interchangeable silicone insert and you must use masking tape (or some other insulator such as vinyl, etc) to cover the inside of the "slot" that the MBP sits in to protect your laptop from scratching
