They get the job done well enough, even given all the issues above, but overall I prefer my KAT isolation headphones.

It is really tight fitting and bulky, not to mention I don't exactly look cool playing with them, but they do a great job of letting you hear the music clearly so you can play acoustic drums along to songs and protect your ears.

I purchased Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones after I used a pair that my colleague had, knowing that I'd prefer to have a different set I could leave at different location where environmental noise is more of a problem, and these headphones seemed like they'd do an even better job of noise isolation at a lower price

Turns out they did a good job of making the earpiece cup "breakaway" so that they don't actually break;

Pretty solid, but my old noise cancelling Sony ear buds did a better job blocking out sound.
