Vic Firth Stereo Isolation Headphones.

Wearing headphones while you drum probably isn't your favorite thing, but when you've gotta, choose the Vic Firth SIH1 Isolation Headphones. They reduce outside noise by up to 24dB, which means you don't have to crank the volume as much...
Some comments say they are snug fitting (yes, that's hearing protection)and maybe delicate (as all consumer electronics are)Have to be gentle with them
I've only used these without being plugged into a board so far but they offer great hearing protection and better feel for the bass drum/snare.
Great sound and ear protection, while at the same time having the ability to listen to music so you can play along and still hear your drums as you play along, or just use them on their own to protect your ears
The sound protection it provides while playing drums is great, and it's nice you can pump in some music to play along to, or send your mics into it to hear the rest of the band or yourself.
Overall, though, both headhones are great products and offer fantastic hearing protection and decent sound, although I'd have to give the Howard Leight set the edge on bass, versatility, and price.
They have a pretty good sound output and the headset cuts out the perfect amount of decibels for you to still play drums and have a normal conversation
but you can move it forwards or backward or just elevate so that its not touching your head and dont worry the headset won't
Overall a great headset that allows me to practice with clarity!
i bought these noise-canceling headsets to wear when drumming.
I like them for airlines where my other headsets were still not good enough.
Isolation headphones are a must have for any musician who wants to play along to clear music without destroying their hearing over time, and I haven't seen any other headphones that compare to these in durability, sound, and price
While drumming, they allow me to hear the drums as well as the music, all while protecting my hearing
The isolate the performer from the volume of the drums and help protect hearing
After ten years of drumming, I can honestly say that I have lost significant hearing in both ears
Before suggesting that my ears are the issue, I make sure to protect my hearing every time I
It's a great isolation headphone, the only thing that could be better is if the cable was like the sennheiser hd 280
It isnt a bad thing but think about it, who sings but never sings loud
and when i put these things on it definitely isolates sound, and its just perfect to me to practice my drumsthe sound of my drums where just loud enough for me to hear,
It's a great isolation headphone, the only thing that could be better is if the cable was like the sennheiser hd 280
The other nice thing about the Leights is that you can unplug the cord, so you can just use them as hearing protection without a cord if you don't need to listen to music too
Great sound and ear protection, while at the same time having the ability to listen to music so you can play along and still hear your drums as you play along, or just use them on their own to protect your ears
These headphones help block out the sound and protect your ears
Whether you get these or other headphones, protect your ears, you only have one pair.
so I could play to a backing track while actually being able to hear the music and protect my ears.
Some over ear headphones distort outside sound horribly
I bought one of these, and after a year or so of relatively careful use one of the speakers started cutting in and out like there was a loose wire
I don't know if there is a way to open up the headphones to see if there are loose wires, but I don't know how to open without breaking
I the was able to see that the wire where it goes into the ear piece through the plastic strain relief had broken (from repeated flexing no doubt) and I spliced it and more or less got the thing back together but not like new
If the headphones fail (and let's face it, eventually any wire will die), you only have to buy a new pair of headphones
I have had a pair of these for 4 years , the only issue being the loose wire which happens if the cable is caught or snagged....plenty of you tube clips showing how to repair them
