Plex compatible, and as mentioned can connect via USB to external sources

At the time I thought Plex might be the issue, but I found others with the same problem and more technical expertise suggesting that the WD WiFi networking was causing the issue

It was easy to set up.-I installed Plex without incident and it worked really well as a Plex Media Server

Love having plex, but the hardware is very flakey.

Most of the commercial Plex players like Apple TV and Fire TV won’t function at all without at least a minimum internet connection for authentication.

I run a PLEX server on my main computer, but it sucks down a ton of power (it's also a gaming PC) so opting for a far more energy-efficient PLEX server in a (very small) box seemed like a no-brainer

I have multiple file formats on my Plex server like everyone else on the planet

As soon as the Internet is disconnected from the MPWP Plex will respond with the message: "Plex is not reachable

I used Plex, Handbrake and MCeBuddy to optimize the files all worked but MCebuddy worked best for me because it will drop the completed optimized files right on the My Passport drive as long as it is plugged into the network and accessible to MCEBuddy

a great, portable Plex server and backup drive has become a very frustrating experience and product.

Good plex server

Plex runs really slow, media recognition and metadata download is painfully slow, and that’s when connecting to it from a web browser

Also, I have never gotten Plex to work.
